Senior Software Engineer – ML Platform
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale a next‑generation Machine Learning Platform that enables teams across the organization to efficiently productionize ML models at global scale. You’ll apply modern MLOps practices to streamline deployment, simplify operations, and create reliable infrastructure that empowers data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to deliver value quickly and confidently.
In this role, you’ll design systems that support model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management for both GPU and CPU workloads. You’ll also help enable live testing scenarios such as A/B experiments and shadow traffic, and build tools for versioning, observability, and reproducible ML environments. Your work will make machine learning easier to adopt and operate across diverse product teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement ML inference infrastructure for real-time and batch model serving, including CPU/GPU-aware scheduling and automated deployment pipelines
- Collaborate with research, data science, and product engineering teams to understand requirements and build reusable, scalable platform solutions
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows for ML artifacts to enable rapid iteration and safe promotion from development to production
- Build and maintain tooling for dependency and environment management (e.g., Conda, Poetry, container image hardening) to ensure reproducible ML runtimes
- Implement observability features including monitoring, drift detection, latency metrics, and resource utilization tracking
- Support ML deployment best practices such as multi-version serving, blue/green rollouts, shadow deployments, and rollback strategies
- Focus on improving developer experience and iteratively refining platform usability
- Contribute to platform architecture decisions and long-term roadmap planning
- Partner with shared infrastructure teams to contribute upstream and establish effective collaboration models
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time spent on platform, infrastructure, or backend systems
- Experience building and operating distributed systems or production ML platforms
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, containerization, autoscaling, observability stacks)
- Experience with one or more model serving frameworks (e.g., NVIDIA Triton, KServe, TorchServe, BentoML, Seldon Core)
- Knowledge of GPU orchestration, performance tuning, and cost-aware scheduling
- Strong background in CI/CD automation, infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform), and artifact management
- Experience working with Python ML ecosystems, environment/package management tools (Poetry, Conda), and vulnerability scanning workflows
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, data science, and product teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience building ML infrastructure for low-latency or real-time use cases
- Familiarity with ML workflow tools such as MLflow, DVC, LakeFS, and drift monitoring strategies
- Exposure to online experimentation frameworks and A/B testing for model evaluation
- Experience contributing to greenfield platform initiatives, particularly involving multi-tenancy or self-service capabilities

THE ROLE
- You will be responsible for computer vision and multimodal model research, building and development for the company’s agentic AI product across imaging centers and hospitals
- You will report directly to senior leadership and work closely on technical direction
- Own applied AI research and quickly build into production, particularly focusing on novel AI, computer vision and LLM applications
- You will directly work with production team on implement and design code and build out to production using various machine learning, imaging and LLM techniques, owning machine learning modeling
- You will play an integral role of building out the AI team and scaling out its product
- Act as a thought leader role for AI across the business, mentoring junior team members
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful Senior Computer Vision Scientist will likely have the following skills and experience:
- 5+ years of commercial experience preferred with a focus on applied machine learning and computer vision research, building production-grade models with NLP and LLMs ideally with voice, image and multi-modal systems
- Experience working in a scaling startup is preferred
- Expertise in Python (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for production-grade work

Senior Data Platform Engineer

£90,000 to £105,000 base salary
This is an opportunity to join a small, fast‑growing team building large‑scale data and AI platforms used to drive advanced analytics and high‑volume data processing. You will work at the heart of their next‑generation data architecture, designing distributed systems that support cutting‑edge machine learning workloads at scale.
The Company
They are a specialist AdTech organisation using advanced data processing and AI to understand consumer behaviour at massive scale. Their platform ingests billions of daily events and supports a suite of data‑driven products used by clients for insight, analytics and digital activation. With around ten people in the business and a growing engineering function, they offer a collaborative, authentically driven environment with no bureaucracy and significant ownership from day one.
The Role
In this Senior Data Platform Engineer position, you will:
* Build and scale distributed data pipelines capable of handling large, high‑throughput workloads.
* Develop core backend services in either Python or Go and learn the other as needed.
* Work across big data processing, data warehousing and high‑volume SQL‑based modelling.
* Contribute to the architecture underpinning ML and GPU‑backed inference workloads.
* Develop resilient, cost‑efficient systems that scale as data volumes grow.
* Improve the existing platform and help build new tools, pipelines and client‑facing features.
* Own platform reliability, performance and data integrity across the ecosystem.
Your Skills and Experience
You will need:
* Strong commercial experience in Python or Go, with the ability to work across both.
* Proven capability in distributed systems, large‑scale data processing, and high‑volume data environments.
* Deep experience with SQL and modern cloud data warehousing.
* Experience with big data tooling and best practices.
* The ability to design systems for scale, reliability and cost‑efficiency.
Nice to have skills include AWS, Kubernetes, GCP BigQuery, GPU or Ray experience, and exposure to AdTech or privacy‑first data environments.

Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Harnham is partnered with a well-known financial services company that is disrupting a key area of financial services. They are building out a proprietary LLM platform that will revolutionize how certain financial tasks are carried out in the cloud. This will be a senior-level ML Engineer in the business and lead all LLM projects from end-to-end.
THE ROLE
- You will be responsible for end-to-end machine learning model development and deployment for the company’s AI platform
- You will report directly to senior leadership and work closely on technical direction
- Own development of new PoCs and quickly build into production, particularly focusing on novel NLP and LLM applications
- You will implement and design code and build out to production using various machine learning and LLM techniques, owning machine learning infrastructure
- You will play an integral role of building out the AI team and scaling out its product
- Act as a thought leader role for AI across the business
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful Senior Machine Learning Engineer will likely have the following skills and experience:
- 3-5 years of commercial experience (depending on education level) preferred with a focus on building and deploying natural language and LLM models
- Experience working in a fast-moving organization is preferred
- Expertise in Python (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for production-grade work
- Commercial experience building novel NLP and LLM AI platforms with large datasets
- Cloud experience in AWS, Azure or GCP preferred
- History of working on models from concept to production / end-to-end / 0-1
- Experience in settings wearing multiple hats
- Domain experience in financial services, investment or private equity a plus
- History of partnering with non-technical stakeholders required
- Experience as a player/coach or manager for AI teams preferred
- PhD or MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering or similar
THE BENEFITS
A competitive base salary of $180,000-200,000 + benefits + equity
