Product Strategy Lead

£70,000-£80,000 + Bonus

London (Hybrid – 2x Days a Week in Office)

The Company

This is an opportunity to join a specialist eCommerce consultancy and digital product agency working with ambitious global brands to create better digital experiences and drive commercial growth! The business sits at the intersection of eCommerce, product, strategy, design, technology and AI, helping brands rethink how they build and operate their digital experiences; rather than relying on traditional all-in-one platforms, they help clients explore more flexible, modular approaches, including headless CMS, composable commerce and modular checkout solutions, giving brands greater flexibility, performance and control. The business is part of a much larger global digital experience group, combining the pace and autonomy of a specialist consultancy with the scale and capabilities of a global organisation.

The Role

As Product Strategy Lead, you’ll be a senior strategic hire responsible for helping shape a new product strategy capability within the business. You’ll work directly with senior client stakeholders to understand their commercial challenges, identify opportunities and turn those opportunities into products, propositions and digital experiences that can actually be built and launched. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, strategy, eCommerce and client leadership, working closely with designers, engineers and other strategists throughout the process. This is a role with genuine autonomy. You’ll help shape how the new strategic product function operates, the propositions it takes to market and how it creates value for clients. You’ll also play an important role in growing existing client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand the commercial relationship.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work directly with clients to understand their business objectives, challenges and desired outcomes.
  • Lead strategic product thinking across complex eCommerce and digital challenges.
  • Identify opportunities to create new products, services and propositions.
  • Develop product strategies from initial concept through to execution.
  • Lead client workshops, presentations and strategic conversations with senior stakeholders.
  • Work closely with designers and engineers to turn strategy into tangible products and experiences.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial recommendations for clients.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships and revenue.
  • Challenge existing thinking and bring new ideas and perspectives to clients.
  • Help build the agency’s product strategy offering from the ground up.
  • Explore how AI can improve products, experiences, processes and commercial outcomes.
  • Understand customer behaviour, data and market trends to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Work across multiple clients and projects in a fast-paced, autonomous agency environment.

You’ll be expected to operate at different levels – from defining the long-term strategic vision through to helping teams translate that vision into something tangible.

The Questions You’ll Be Solving

You could be working with clients to answer questions such as:

  • How can we grow eCommerce revenue?
  • What’s missing from the current digital experience?
  • What new products or features could create additional value?
  • How can AI be embedded into an existing product or customer journey?
  • Where are the biggest opportunities for commercial growth?
  • How do we turn an identified opportunity into something that can actually be built and launched?

Your Skills & Experience

I am looking for someone operating at the intersection of product, strategy, eCommerce and clients.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A strong background working within an agency or consultancy environment.
  • Significant experience working with eCommerce clients.
  • Experience in product strategy, digital strategy, product management or a closely related discipline.
  • A proven track record of working directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial understanding, with evidence of driving revenue or commercial impact.
  • Experience taking products, propositions or strategic ideas from concept through to execution.
  • Strong knowledge of the eCommerce landscape, including platforms such as Shopify.
  • Understanding of UX, CRO, APIs, SEO, integrations and digital product development.
  • The ability to work comfortably with designers, engineers and other technical specialists.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using AI to improve products, processes or ways of working.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and influencing skills.
  • The ability to operate autonomously in a fast-moving environment.

The key is someone who can hold the room with senior clients, understand the commercial problem they’re trying to solve and then work with technical and creative teams to turn that thinking into something deliverable!

The Benefits

  • £70,000-£80,000
