Director of Analytics
Location: Remote (U.S.) – preference for Central or Eastern Time Zone candidates; West Coast candidates welcome if comfortable with occasional early meetings
About the Role
This leader will own two major areas: internal analytics and customer-facing data products.
On the internal side, the role supports business intelligence across Sales, Go-to-Market, Transactions, Operations, and FP&A, built on Looker dashboards and modern analytics engineering practices.
On the customer-facing side, the role owns B2B analytics products delivered directly to business customers, including spend reporting, sustainability reporting, policy compliance and adherence reporting, and travel program analytics. This leader will be responsible for evolving both legacy reporting capabilities and new analytics product development.
The company is also investing in natural language and conversational analytics, bringing AI-powered interaction to travel program data. The analytics organization is responsible for the data modeling, SQL development, and semantic layer design that support those AI experiences.
This is not a hands-off management role. The organization needs someone who can drive analytics strategy, set the technical roadmap, own architecture discussions, lead modernization efforts, and partner heavily with Product and Executive Leadership, while remaining capable of running SQL in Snowflake, building and understanding Looker models, and participating directly in technical discovery.
What You’ll Do
- Drive analytics strategy and set the technical roadmap
- Own architecture discussions and lead modernization efforts
- Partner heavily with Product and Executive Leadership
- Run SQL in Snowflake and build and understand Looker models
- Participate in technical discovery, and challenge and guide technical decisions
- Evolve legacy reporting capabilities while building new analytics products
Time Breakdown: Half of the role is dedicated to driving technical roadmap and strategy, with a meaningful hands-on component. The other half is leadership, people management, and executive and stakeholder engagement.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 10+ years of total experience, ideally including a career path from software engineering into analytics engineering and then into leadership, while staying close to tech and AI initiatives
- 5+ years leading teams, having managed teams of 10 or more people
- Strong engineering foundation; pure BI analysts are unlikely to be successful in this role
- Exposure to AI-powered analytics solutions and experience building AI-enabled analytics products
- Understanding of modern LLM-driven workflows
- Experience building SaaS platforms
- Proficiency with Looker, Power BI, SQL, and Snowflake
- Data modeling expertise, semantic layer modeling, and familiarity with medallion architecture
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, Jira, GitHub, and engineering team leadership
Nice to Have:
- Conversational analytics experience
- Natural language query and reporting product experience
- Self-service analytics platform experience
Team Structure
- Reports directly to the EVP of Data, AI, and Engineering
- Interfaces heavily with the Director of Engineering and the Product team, including the Scrum Master
- 11 direct reports total: 6 individual contributors in Analytics Engineering & Reporting, plus a Client Reporting function of 4 individual contributors and 1 manager
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: Up to $235,000
Bonus: 15-20%
Additional Benefits:
In addition to medical, dental, and vision coverage, the company offers an employee rewards and recognition program, a Total Rewards Package including wellness, sustainability, DE&I initiatives, and mental health support.

If you’re a strategic CRO professional who enjoys owning the full customer journey, building experimentation roadmaps and turning insight into measurable commercial growth, this could be an excellent opportunity to make a real impact across multiple brands and markets!
The Company
A leading, multi-award-winning travel insurance group is continuing to invest in its digital customer experience and optimisation capabilities. The group operates several well-established travel insurance brands across the UK, Ireland and Australia, with further international expansion planned. - Defining CX performance indicators and presenting recommendations and results to senior stakeholders

- Exploring emerging technologies, AI and new approaches to digital optimisation
The business already has a roadmap in place, so you’ll have a strong foundation to build upon while bringing your own strategic thinking and experience to the function.
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong end-to-end CRO and customer journey optimisation experience
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to build and own an optimisation roadmap
- Strong hands-on experience delivering experimentation and A/B testing
- Experience working across the full testing lifecycle, from identifying opportunities through to implementation and measurement

- A good understanding of front-end implementation, tagging and experimentation architecture
- Knowledge of UX/UI and personalisation principles
- Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills
- The ability to operate in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Experience within insurance or financial services would be beneficial but is not essential. Travel, digital-first or agency backgrounds will also be considered. Experience with server-side testing and experimentation is particularly attractive.
The Benefits

I’m hiring a Customer Experience Optimisation Manager to join a growing, tech‑focused insurance business and take ownership of experimentation and optimisation across the full customer journey.
This is a high‑impact role, owning how the business tests, learns, and improves performance across marketing and digital channels.
The company
A modern, fast‑growing travel insurance provider operating across multiple brands, focused on delivering strong customer experiences in a highly regulated space.
They sit somewhere between a tech business and a traditional insurer – meaning fast‑paced, data‑driven, and highly commercial.
The role
You’ll be responsible for building and owning the experimentation strategy across the business, working across marketing, customer experience, and product teams.
This is not a narrow product analytics role – it’s holistic experimentation ownership across all channels.
What you’ll be doing
- Own the experimentation roadmap and CRO strategy across the full customer journey
- Design and run A/B tests across email, website, and direct marketing channels
- Identify customer pain points and define optimisation opportunities
- Work with UX, engineering, and marketing teams to implement tests and improvements
- Analyse results and turn findings into scalable business improvements
- Build frameworks for testing, measurement, and continuous optimisation
- Drive a culture of data‑driven experimentation across the business
What you bring
Must‑haves
- Strong experience working in CRO / experimentation / optimisation roles
- Proven experience owning an experimentation roadmap (not just contributing)
- Hands‑on experience running A/B and multivariate testing at scale
- Experience identifying customer journey pain points and driving improvements
- Strong stakeholder skills – able to work across marketing, product, and tech
- Experience with experimentation tools (e.g. Optimizely, VWO, AB Tasty, etc)
Strongly preferred
- Experience in insurance, financial services, telecoms, or regulated industries
- Experience across multiple channels (email, website, direct marketing)
- Background in conversion rate optimisation or digital performance
- Experience in fast‑paced, commercial environments (e.g. retail, travel, eCommerce)
Not the right fit if:
- You’re a pure product analyst who only occasionally runs tests
- You haven’t owned end‑to‑end experimentation strategy
- Your experience is heavily skewed toward reporting, not testing
What they’re looking for
- 5-6+ years’ experience
- A confident, independent operator – able to own this function end‑to‑end
- Strong commercial mindset and focus on measurable outcomes
- Someone who can translate testing into real business impact
The team
- Reports into Head of Marketing / Customer Experience
- Works alongside marketing, CRM, UX, and product teams
- Dedicated CX function already in place – this role adds deep experimentation capability
Why this role
- Full ownership of experimentation across an entire business
- Opportunity to shape a CRO capability from the ground up
- High visibility across senior stakeholders
- Work in a fast‑growing, modern insurance business
- Flexible hybrid working (only 2 days per month in office)
Package
- Up to £60,000 salary
- Up to 20% discretionary bonus
Interview process
- Stage 1: Intro conversation
- Stage 2: Technical + presentation (experimentation focus)
- Final stage: Leadership discussion
If you’re someone who has owned experimentation end‑to‑end and wants a role with genuine autonomy and impact, this is a great opportunity.
