This newly created Associate Director level role – Lead, Omnichannel Analytics and Data Science – will be instrumental in bringing marketing mix modelling in-house, developing advanced recommendation systems, and leading the Next Best Action initiative for a major therapeutic brand.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced omnichannel analytics strategies.
- Bring Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) in-house, building models in Python.
- Create Next Best Engagement models to personalise marketing activities.
- Partner with senior marketing and commercial stakeholders to turn data into action.
- Provide strategic insights and KPIs for measuring omnichannel effectiveness.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience with Marketing Mix Modelling and advanced statistical modelling.

We’re looking for a data scientist who loves building models and has a strong background in commercial and digital data. Ideally, you’ve worked in fast moving environments, translating complex data into actionable insights for marketing, sales, or customer experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Own models end-to-end: clean the data, engineer features, build, validate, deploy, and iterate
- Use statistical and predictive modeling to tackle forecasting, optimization, and risk challenges
- Build models from scratch and bring key modeling in-house

About the Role
This company is seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Scientist to play a key role in their growing AI organization. In this role, you’ll design and lead high‑impact data science initiatives, building models that power critical marketplace functions such as personalization, recommendations, search ranking, content moderation, and trust & safety. You’ll be responsible for setting technical direction, mentoring other team members, and driving innovative AI solutions from concept to production.

Role Overview
The candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of aviation consultants, AI engineers, policy experts, and UX developers. The role involves:

- Building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems to provide policy guidance
- Preparing datasets and pipelines using structured and unstructured regulatory data
- Contributing to model evaluation and iteration based on user feedback

- Documenting technical processes and outcomes for R&D reporting
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying opportunities to apply AI techniques across the policy development lifecycle

The Role
As Director of Data Science, you’ll lead a team of Data Scientists and Analytical Data Engineers responsible for delivering impactful analytics and machine learning solutions across the commercial lifecycle. - Advanced expertise in machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, classification, forecasting, NLP, A/B testing) applied to real-world commercial use cases
- Proficient in Python and SQL; experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Snowpark highly valued
- Strong understanding of data sets common to biopharma (specialty pharmacy, claims, HCP targeting, CRM, etc.)
- 3+ years managing and scaling high-impact Data Science teams in high-growth or enterprise health tech environments
- Proven record of driving measurable business outcomes through ML/AI-powered solutions
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills; ability to bridge technical depth with commercial strategy
- M.S. or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science)
Preferred Qualifications:

THE COMPANY
Harnham is partnering with an online retailer / marketplace that is looking to add a Manager to their Data Science & AI team in London.
They have 1000 staff across offices in the UK, US and Europe, with the data team being small (circa 4-5 people). Working closely with the data director, you will join to manage a small (but growing) team, remaining hands-on you will help bring a more sophisticated approach to data science and machine learning across the business.
Key projects the team are working on currently:
- Dynamic pricing algorithms for the website
- Recommender systems
- NLP and classification
- Customer and marketing behaviour (LTV and segmentation)
A big focus for the next few months will be to make their current product pricing algorithms better!
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You must have:
- An MSc or Ph.D. in a STEM topic with a machine learning focus
- Experience of working with large volumes of data (preferably online data)
- Expert knowledge of Python
- Working knowledge of GCP (other cloud tools fine)
- Knowledge of pricing is required for this role
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Experience in leading teams of data scientists who are responsible for deploying machine learning into production.
