AI Engineer – LLMs for Document Intelligence | Remote (UK) | Up to £70,000

We’re supporting a UK-based SaaS company in hiring an AI Engineer to join their Innovation team. This role is focused on delivering real business impact through Generative AI, particularly in the area of document intelligence.

The opportunity

• Build and deploy LLM-based systems to automate document extraction, reasoning and validation
• Work on high-impact use cases, such as ESG and sustainability compliance
• Join a small, collaborative team that values clean code, fast iteration and practical AI solutions

What you’ll do

• Design and implement LLM-powered workflows for document understanding, including RAG and agent-based systems
• Develop robust, well-structured Python libraries and production-ready services
• Build quick prototypes (Streamlit, Dash) and scalable services (FastAPI, Kubernetes)
• Contribute to engineering best practices across CI/CD, testing, and monitoring

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience with document extraction using LLMs
• Expert-level Python skills, with a strong grounding in software engineering fundamentals
• Clear communicator, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Senior Research Engineer

London/Amsterdam (Hybrid/Remote) – Up to £150,000

Join a leading blockchain analytics platform that combines on-chain data with millions of wallet labels to help investors, institutions, and crypto-native teams make faster, more informed decisions in the decentralised economy.

Responsibilities:

• Take the lead in building and rolling out our research framework to train models using different optimisation techniques
• Help connect those models to their platform so they can run smoothly in production
• Build tools and frameworks that their Quant Researchers and Traders use to test ideas and fine-tune data-driven trading strategies
• Collaborate closely with the business side to understand needs, gather feedback, and improve their research tools over time.

Requirements:

• PhD or MSc Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in MLOps and Research Engineering
• An ability to work full-stack with data; some data engineering experience is a big plus
• Strong coding skills in Python

DATA ENGINEER

Looking for a role where you can take ownership of a modern cloud data warehouse, optimise pipelines, and make data more scalable, reliable, and cost-effective?

THE COMPANY:

I’m working with a global retail & e-commerce brand that’s expanding rapidly across the UK. With a growing digital and physical presence, their central data team plays a key role in powering insights across e-commerce, retail, finance, and marketing.

THE ROLE:

This is a hands-on data engineering role where you’ll focus on building, optimising, and scaling pipelines into BigQuery (GCP) from a wide range of sources. You’ll work closely with BI developers and analysts to ensure clean, reliable data is available for reporting and decision-making.

• Manage and optimise pipelines from ERP, website, APIs, app stores, social media, and more.
• Work with BigQuery, Google Buckets, Python scripts, and Talend (transitioning to Dataform/Cloud workflows).
• Support migrations between GCP projects and ensure the warehouse is scalable and cost-efficient.
• Partner with BI teams to prepare and transform data for reporting in Power BI and Looker.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

A successful Data Engineer will have the following skills and experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery & GCP (essential).
• Solid SQL skills, with a focus on optimisation and performance tuning.
• Experience working with APIs and data pipelines.

With executive-level support and increasing product demand, they’re seeking a Director of Data Science to lead strategy, research, and engineering execution across NLP and LLM initiatives for tax, compliance and auditing projects. THE ROLE

As Director of Data Science, you’ll be responsible for setting the long-term machine learning roadmap, leading technical teams, and ensuring the successful development and deployment of scalable NLP solutions. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in machine learning and data science, with at least 4+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Comfortable leading teams of 15+ data scientists and machine learning engineers
• Demonstrated success building and leading teams that develop and deploy NLP/LLM models at scale.
• Deep expertise in Python, ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), and modern NLP tools (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy).
• Experience designing and implementing ML systems in production, especially with large language models (e.g., GPT, BERT, T5).
• Extensive tax, compliance and/or audit domain experience.
• Comfortable with regulatory compliance processes, risk management, data privacy.
• Familiarity with the SEC, FCA and FINRA preferred
• Proven ability to align technical initiatives with business goals, working cross-functionally with product and exec teams.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and scalable ML pipelines.
• PhD or Master’s degree in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Publication or open-source contributions in NLP/ML domains (e.g., ACL, NeurIPS, ICLR, EMNLP) a plus.

The Role

This is a senior, client-facing role at the intersection of data strategy, AI opportunity, and delivery execution. You’ll lead end-to-end strategy engagements, translate business needs into actionable roadmaps, guide multi-disciplinary delivery teams, and mentor consultants-ensuring solutions land, scale, and drive impact.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end data & AI strategy engagements: scope, discovery, assessment, roadmap, operating model, adoption.

Broad technical grasp: modern data platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), ingestion/ELT, modelling, governance (policies, lineage, MDM), BI, and ML use cases.

Hands-on when needed: comfortable diving into discovery, prototyping value cases, and structuring delivery backlogs.

Value & adoption mindset: measurable outcomes, TCO awareness, and practical operating models (people, process, tech).

Strong facilitation & comms: runs C-level workshops, produces clear roadmaps, and tells compelling data-led stories.

Coaching orientation: develops juniors; sets standards for consulting quality and delivery excellence.
