This will be a tech-lead MLOps Engineer in the business and lead all LLM projects from end-to-end.
THE ROLE

You’re an experienced data scientist with a proven track record of using machine learning to solve real-world business challenges. You’re just as comfortable in Python as you are in a boardroom, and you’re motivated by measurable impact, not just model accuracy.
- Proven experience applying data science in commercial settings
- Proven ability to lead data science projects from concept to production
- Deep understanding of statistical modelling, predictive analytics, and optimisation techniques
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product leads, and client stakeholders
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science) from a strong university
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

We’re partnered with a global leader in legal technology that delivers intelligent information and AI-driven solutions to professionals worldwide. Their innovation hub operates like a startup within the company, driving applied research in machine learning and generative AI to transform how legal research and workflows are delivered.
As part of their Product Engineering organization, they’re hiring a Software Development Manager to help lead engineering for their flagship legal search platform. This hybrid role is based in the great Minneapolis area with in-office collaboration 2-3 days per week.
The Role
As a Software Development Manager, you’ll oversee and grow a high-performing engineering team working on AI-powered applications. You’ll be responsible for guiding both frontend and backend development, influencing product direction, and ensuring delivery of innovative, enterprise-scale features. This role requires both strong technical expertise and leadership skills, making it ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of hands-on engineering and team management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of 4-8 engineers, fostering growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Drive the design and implementation of UI and backend systems using modern frameworks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other leaders to define strategy and set technical direction.
- Own roadmaps and project lifecycles, ensuring initiatives move from concept to launch.
- Mentor engineers, support professional development, and promote best practices.
- Define success metrics and evaluate impact using data-driven insights.
- Shape architecture and provide technical guidance across frontend, backend, and DevOps.
Requirements
- 7+ years of commercial software engineering experience, with ~3 years in leadership or management (open to tech leads with direct or dotted-line reports).
- Strong experience building scalable, enterprise-level applications.
- Backend expertise: Python with Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Frontend expertise: React, Angular, TypeScript, Node.js.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, data engineering, and MLOps.
- Cloud experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code).
- Exposure to AI frameworks and GenAI concepts (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, RAG, prompt engineering).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
The Benefits
- Base salary of $180,000 – $220,000 + 20% bonus + RSUs (LTI), with total compensation up to ~$300K.
