AI Product Engineer
Bay Area, Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in office)
About the Role
Join a fast-growing compliance technology company at a pivotal moment: the shift from reactive, user driven AI features to true agentic systems that take autonomous action on customers' behalf. This isn't prototype work, it's production grade AI, built to help enterprise customers achieve and demonstrate compliance end to end, with minimal manual intervention.
You'll work within a small, focused team building agentic capabilities in a specific product domain, partnering closely with a dedicated product manager. Expect real ownership from the ground up: you're not adding features to an existing system, you're building the agents that will define how customers interact with the platform. The architecture is evolving toward a shared platform layer, so you'll also collaborate across teams to keep the customer experience unified.
Day to day is roughly 80% coding and system design, 20% meetings.
Examples of What You Might Build
- An agent that autonomously helps customers remediate failing compliance controls and get them to a passing state
- An agent that autonomously demonstrates compliance on a customer's behalf, fully automated
What You'll Need
- Production experience building and shipping agentic AI systems in a customer facing environment, not research or prototyping
- Deep familiarity with the full agentic lifecycle: prompt engineering, evaluation, iteration, debugging, and scaling
- A strong traditional software engineering foundation (full stack or backend) with a deliberate transition into AI engineering
- Proven bias for ownership; you can speak clearly to what you built, why, and the trade-offs you navigated
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript
- Experience running structured AI evaluations and iterating based on real results
- 4+ years of relevant experience
Nice to Have
- RAG (retrieval augmented generation) experience
- Experience with agent frameworks or LLM orchestration tooling (e.g., AWS Bedrock, LangChain, or similar)
