THE ROLE:
This is a hands-on data engineering role where you’ll focus on building, optimising, and scaling pipelines into BigQuery (GCP) from a wide range of sources. You’ll work closely with BI developers and analysts to ensure clean, reliable data is available for reporting and decision-making.
- Manage and optimise pipelines from ERP, website, APIs, app stores, social media, and more.
- Work with BigQuery, Google Buckets, Python scripts, and Talend (transitioning to Dataform/Cloud workflows).
- Support migrations between GCP projects and ensure the warehouse is scalable and cost-efficient.
- Partner with BI teams to prepare and transform data for reporting in Power BI and Looker.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

With executive-level support and increasing product demand, they’re seeking a Director of Data Science to lead strategy, research, and engineering execution across NLP and LLM initiatives for tax, compliance and auditing projects. THE ROLE

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in machine learning and data science, with at least 4+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Comfortable leading teams of 15+ data scientists and machine learning engineers
- Demonstrated success building and leading teams that develop and deploy NLP/LLM models at scale.
- Deep expertise in Python, ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), and modern NLP tools (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy).
- Experience designing and implementing ML systems in production, especially with large language models (e.g., GPT, BERT, T5).
- Extensive tax, compliance and/or audit domain experience.
- Comfortable with regulatory compliance processes, risk management, data privacy.
- Familiarity with the SEC, FCA and FINRA preferred
- Proven ability to align technical initiatives with business goals, working cross-functionally with product and exec teams.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and scalable ML pipelines.
- PhD or Master’s degree in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Publication or open-source contributions in NLP/ML domains (e.g., ACL, NeurIPS, ICLR, EMNLP) a plus.
