Are you a Power BI Developer who genuinely cares about building beautiful, intuitive, high‑impact dashboards? I’m hiring for a Power BI specialist at a major multi‑brand group with a centralised data function that works across digital, creative, technology, and customer‑facing teams. This is a role for someone who lives and breathes Power BI – modelling, DAX, UX, and storytelling.

You’ll work across a wide range of business areas and stakeholders, translating ambiguous briefs into real, meaningful dashboards that teams actually use. It’s a highly visible, design‑centric role where quality really matters.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and building Power BI dashboards to an exceptional standard of visual design and user experience.
  • Developing robust data models using star schema principles, setting up relationships, hierarchies, and optimised structures.
  • Writing efficient, clean DAX – including complex measures and time intelligence.
  • Using Power Query (M) to build transformations and shape data inside Power BI.
  • Establishing and managing consistent design systems, templates, and themes across reports.
  • Leading scoping conversations to translate unclear or ambitious requests into clear dashboard requirements.
  • Producing wireframes and mock‑ups to align design direction prior to build.
  • Auditing and improving existing reports for performance, maintainability, and UX.
  • Documenting models and dashboards clearly for long‑term maintainability.
  • Managing deployments, workspaces, and pipelines in Power BI Service.

What you bring

Must‑haves:

  • Strong, demonstrable Power BI development experience – you’ll need a portfolio or examples of your work.
  • Deep understanding of data modelling, star schema, relationships, and model optimisation.
  • Advanced DAX (complex measures, performance optimisation).
  • Strong Power Query (M) capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives through dashboard structure and design.
  • Confidence in client‑facing or stakeholder‑facing conversations, scoping requirements, and pushing back constructively.
  • Experience building maintainable, scalable, and high‑quality Power BI solutions.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Tableau or Qlik.
  • Familiarity with DAX Studio or Tabular Editor.
  • Understanding of accessibility best practice in dashboard design.

Note:
The business does not require marketing analytics experience for this version of the role – the priority is powerful Power BI development and design expertise, not domain experience.

Why this role

  • Work with a highly respected centralised data team supporting multiple brands and functions.
  • Big focus on design quality – the team genuinely cares about UX, storytelling, and building dashboards people love.
  • Strong support from senior leaders and exposure to high‑profile projects across the wider organisation.
  • Join during a period of growth with opportunities for progression and technical development.
