Junior Computer Vision Engineer

This is a rare opportunity to join a highly technical AI team working on real world computer vision systems deployed at scale. You will be hands on from day one, building end to end computer vision solutions that have a clear commercial impact, while learning from experienced AI engineers in a fast moving startup environment.

They are a growing B2B technology business developing automated inspection systems using advanced computer vision. Their platform captures and analyses large volumes of images in seconds to assess vehicles, helping partners reduce cost and improve operational efficiency. The company has been operating successfully for several years and is backed by a larger industrial group, combining startup pace with long term stability.
The Role
- Design and build computer vision solutions focused on object detection and 3D image understanding
- Work end to end across the computer vision pipeline, from camera systems and data collection through to model training and deployment
- Develop and optimise models that process high volumes of images in real time
- Collaborate closely with other AI engineers in a small, highly technical team
- Contribute to production ready systems used by external customers
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong foundations in computer vision, including object detection and image recognition
- Exposure to 3D computer vision or multi camera systems
- Experience developing in Python and working with machine learning models
- Understanding of model training, architecture choices and deployment workflows
- Comfortable working independently and delivering solutions in short timeframes

This is a high impact opportunity to shape how Vision Language Models are applied in real world, production grade systems. You will play a central role in building and scaling VLM driven intelligence that connects edge devices with cloud based reasoning, influencing both technical direction and product outcomes in a fast moving environment.

The Role
- Own the design and development of cloud based Vision Language Model pipelines used for large scale labelling and annotation
- Drive decisions on what visual signals, metadata and contextual information are captured from edge devices to maximise VLM performance
- Build and evaluate end to end inference systems, including prompt design, fine tuning strategies and model benchmarking
- Partner closely with embedded systems, computer vision and data science teams to close the loop between devices and cloud intelligence
- Stay at the forefront of the VLM landscape, assessing and integrating commercial and open source models as capabilities evolve
Your Skills and Experience
- Strong commercial experience as a machine learning engineer working with computer vision, LLMs or Vision Language Models
- Hands on experience evaluating, fine tuning or deploying VLMs in production environments
- Deep understanding of how edge constraints such as bandwidth, latency and compute influence model design
- Proficiency with Python, PyTorch and modern cloud based inference and evaluation tooling
- Practical expertise in prompt engineering and model evaluation, with a focus on measurable performance improvements
- Comfortable owning problems end to end and collaborating across hardware and software teams

About the Role
This is a hands-on applied engineering position focused on building and deploying real clinical AI, not academic experiments. You will own production imaging models end?to?end, ensure reliability across diverse clinical settings, and work closely with clinical, regulatory, and deployment teams.

What You Will Own
Computer Vision Development
- Build production-grade CV models used in live cardiac workflows

Production ML & Deployment
- Own pipelines from prototype ? production

What We’re Looking For
Required
- Strong experience in Computer Vision (2D and/or 3D)

We are seeking a Lead Computer Vision Engineer with a proven track record in both technical excellence and team leadership. This role is ideal for someone who can bridge hands-on engineering with mentoring and managing a team, helping to set technical direction while ensuring delivery of production-ready AI systems. You’ll play a pivotal role in building advanced vision pipelines (detection, segmentation, transformers, 3D vision) and integrating them with large language models (LLMs) and vision-language models (VLMs) into real-world multimodal systems.
Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of computer vision and ML engineers, fostering collaboration and growth

Define and drive the technical roadmap for vision-related projects
