About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing healthcare organization focused on improving care delivery and outcomes for underserved and medically complex populations. Their Data & Technology team is investing heavily in modernizing and scaling its data ecosystem, creating a unique opportunity to help build a next-generation platform from the ground up.

This is a true greenfield opportunity where you'll play a key role in designing data architecture, building cloud-based data infrastructure, and enabling analytics that support both operational and strategic decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build scalable data warehousing and data engineering solutions in AWS.
  • Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and Apache Airflow.
  • Integrate data from a variety of internal and external systems, APIs, and third-party sources.
  • Help define data architecture, engineering standards, and best practices.
  • Optimize data models, storage, and performance to support analytics and reporting.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to deliver data solutions that drive measurable outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS-based data platforms and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven success building and managing data pipelines in AWS.
  • Deep experience with Apache Airflow.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting modern data warehouse environments.
  • Ability to work independently and make architecture and technical design recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Snowflake and dbt.
  • Exposure to healthcare, health data, or regulated data environments.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, claims data, EHR systems, or HIPAA requirements.

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a senior-level engineer who enjoys building from scratch, thrives in fast-paced environments, and can take ownership of data architecture decisions. This person should be comfortable balancing hands-on engineering work with strategic input on how a modern cloud data platform should evolve.
