A rapidly scaling AI-native fintech and global workforce technology company is building a unified platform spanning payroll, PEP/EOR, contractor management, benefits, global payments and HR. Its ambition is to replace fragmented HR, payroll, payments and compliance infrastructure with a single intelligent operating system for businesses managing global workforces.

The platform combines proprietary financial infrastructure, workforce data and AI-driven automation across 150+ countries, creating a highly complex and technically ambitious product environment.

The role

The Director of Product will own product strategy and execution across a multi-product fintech platform, working across payroll, payments, HR, compliance and AI.

Reporting to the CEO, you will lead a team of Product Managers, whilst partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Sales and Marketing. Combining strategic product leadership with strong technical fluency, helping shape platform architecture, roadmap priorities and the company's transition toward increasingly AI-native workflows.

Expectations & Ownership areas

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap across payroll, PEO/EOR, contractor management, benefits, payments, HR and AI.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Architecture on APIs, data flows, integrations, platform architecture, scalability and technical trade-offs.
  • Drive the evolution toward AI-native products, using AI agents, automation and proprietary data to eliminate complex manual workflows.
  • Own product development end-to-end, from discovery and technical definition through launch, adoption and iteration.
  • Balance customer-facing features with long-term platform and infrastructure investments, ensuring the product can scale technically and commercially.
  • Establish rigorous product practices across prioritisation, road mapping, experimentation, metrics and execution.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of Product Managers.
  • Partner with senior Engineering, Operations and commercial leadership to translate company strategy into executable product priorities.
  • Maintain a high bar for product quality, reliability, data integrity, security, compliance and auditability, particularly across financially sensitive workflows.

Ideal background

  • 10+ years of Product Management experience with increasing ownership across technically complex products or platforms.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, payroll, HR technology, workforce management or highly regulated SaaS.
  • Strong technical fluency across APIs, distributed systems, data architecture, integration's and platform strategy.
  • Proven experience building and scaling Product teams and implementing rigorous product-management practices.
  • Track record taking complex platforms from strategy through execution, balancing customer needs with technical debt and platform investment.
  • Strong commercial and analytical orientation, using data and automation to improve operational workflows and customer outcomes.
  • Executive-level communication skills and experience partnering directly with CEOs/founders and/or senior Engineering leadership.

Nice to have

  • Experience building AI-native products, AI agents, LLM-powered workflows or intelligent automation.
  • Background in global payroll, EOR/PEO, payments, HRIS or workforce infrastructure.
  • Experience scaling a high-growth start-up/scale-up where the product and technical organisation are evolving rapidly.
