The Opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership role, managing two direct reports whilst providing oversight across wider UK, offshore and outsourced services. You'll be responsible for driving best practice across data engineering, analytics, reporting governance, automation and emerging AI capabilities.
The business operates a modern Databricks environment managing datasets at billion-record scale and is investing heavily in self-service analytics, semantic modelling, automation and AI-driven solutions.
The Role
You'll take ownership of the Data & Analytics function, ensuring the organisation continues to build scalable, trusted and governed data products whilst supporting a growing automation estate of over 120 live automations.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance Operations and Technology, you'll help shape the future direction of data, analytics, automation and AI across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities

You’ll play a key role in shaping and owning a modern enterprise data platform, working alongside highly skilled engineers and architects while influencing technical decisions across the business.

THE ROLE
- Own and oversee a cloud-based enterprise data platform built on Azure technologies
- Act as the technical lead for platform-related decisions, scalability and performance improvements
- Work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Architecture and Engineering teams
- Ensure platform reliability, governance, monitoring and operational excellence
- Troubleshoot complex platform, networking, storage and integration issues
- Drive best practice across CI/CD, automation and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Support Data Engineers by removing technical barriers and improving platform capabilities
- Contribute to platform modernisation, AI enablement and continuous improvement initiatives
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or a similar field
- Excellent Azure experience within enterprise-scale environments
- Experience supporting and optimising cloud-based data platforms
- Strong understanding of Azure Data Factory, Databricks and modern data architecture principles
- Experience with CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Git and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
- Strong knowledge of Python and platform automation
- Experience making technical and architectural decisions
- Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
- Experience within regulated environments would be beneficial

Marketing Automation Engineer
You will be responsible for building and enhancing the systems, automations, and data flows that support customer acquisition, conversion, and retention.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and optimise automated customer journeys across email and digital marketing channels.
- Analyse customer and behavioural data to identify cohorts, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Develop customer re-engagement journeys based on website and purchase behaviour.
- Use SQL and BigQuery to interrogate and transform marketing and customer data.
- Design and maintain integrations between CRM, marketing, advertising, and business systems.
- Build and optimise conversion tracking and attribution frameworks.
- Develop marketing data feeds for advertising and remarketing platforms.
