Lead Software Developer- AI Augmented

We’re looking for a deeply experienced front-end engineer with full-stack fluency who brings strong judgment and a thoughtful critical perspective. This role is not about producing baseline code quickly. Modern AI tools can do that. It’s about collaboration, setting direction, making sound decisions, and driving technical quality. You will leverage AI agents as force multipliers while maintaining a high bar for correctness, maintainability, testability, and operational excellence. Success here depends on engineering judgment-choosing the right solution, not just producing code.
Key Responsibilities:
· Take Ownership: You’ll be accountable for upholding a high bar for quality through design reviews, code reviews, test strategy, and production readiness.
· Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with product, design, and fellow engineers to shape solutions, clarify tradeoffs, and deliver reliably.
· Architect for change: Design and build full-stack, frontend-leaning systems that are intentionally small, composable, and resilient to evolving product requirements.
· Improve Performance & Quality: Enforce architectural and operational quality, catching subtle issues that are easy to miss in fast-moving, AI-assisted development.
· Champion Functional Patterns: Champion functional programming principles and immutability to reduce side effects and make systems simpler to reason through and debug.
· Lead AI-assisted Development: You’ll use AI assistants/agents for prototyping, scaffolding, refactoring, and exploratory development, then harden the result and rigorously validate through tests, reasoning, and edge-case review.
· Raise quality through testing: Build and maintain a strong automated test suite of unit, integration/contract, component/UI, and end-to-end coverage, with fast feedback loops in CI.
About You:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or a related field.
· 10+ years of experience building production web applications and 2+ years as a Principal Engineer.
· Expert-level proficiency with TypeScript, strong experience with React, server-side rendered Next.js (or similar), and performant component-driven development (e.g. Reshaped UI).
· Deep understanding and experience with of the orchestration and composition of calls across multiple services
· Ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to stakeholders and translate product vision into high-fidelity technical direction.
· Demonstrated development of simple, reusable, changeable systems (with examples of refactors, platforming work, or scalable patterns).
· Preference for functional programming and a deep understanding of why immutability is critical in modern software development.
· Advanced knowledge of the testing pyramid and how to use automated tests as a safety net for rapid, iterative development.
· Proven technical leadership through mentorship, delegation, and high-quality code reviews.
AI-Assisted Engineering Expectations:
· Hands-on experience with tools like Cursor (or equivalent AI-augmented IDEs) and all modern coding models.
· Practical understanding of where AI is strong vs. where it falls short, paired with sound discernment in its application.
· Ability to use AI agents to quickly project multiple approaches, compare tradeoffs, and converge on the best solution without shipping “AI-shaped” code.

Senior Tech Lead, Enterprise AI Products (Contract)
West London, 3 days per week on site, up to £800/day, Inside IR35
THE COMPANY
A major international aviation group is building a brand-new AI engineering capability to transform its maintenance and supply chain operations. The programme is fully greenfield: the team formed only weeks ago, there is a roadmap of 7 internal AI products, and the first is an LLM-powered contract intelligence platform targeting tens of millions of pounds in savings across the group.
THE ROLE
This is a deeply technical leadership role. You will own architecture across half the domain, drive the technical decisions, and work with squads in London and Barcelona to deliver against them. It is not a programme, delivery or governance position: you make the architectural calls rather than facilitate them.
You will:
- Design large-scale agentic AI architectures: LLM document processing, structured extraction, RAG, invoice-to-contract matching
- Own low-level design decisions, including API design, data models and service boundaries
- Set and drive technical processes: engineering standards, security practices, including pen testing, SDLC ownership
- Work across the full stack, from front end through back end to ML/AI and data
- Whiteboard solutions directly with senior business stakeholders and translate requirements into build
- Mentor engineers and squad tech leads to understand and deliver on the architecture
- Shape MLOps routes to live, CI/CD and generative AI abstraction layers
- Model the cost, feasibility and risk of different LLMs and implementation approaches
THE STACK
AWS, Bedrock, LangGraph, LangChain, Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Airflow, React, Next.js, Kubernetes.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- 15+ years in enterprise software engineering with a background in product engineering organisations or technology companies
- Deeply technical: recent evidence of designing systems from scratch and driving architectural decisions across multiple teams
- Agentic AI delivered in production, ideally LangGraph or LangChain, with strong Python and FastAPI
- AWS architecture at scale, with a preference for open standards over cloud-native lock-in
- Full-stack understanding across FE, BE, ML/AI and data
- Comfortable challenging engineering decisions at code level while operating at architecture level
- Strong tenure and a coherent technical career trajectory
- Aviation, logistics or supply chain domain experience a bonus
THE PROCESS
Two stages. Stage 1 is a technical whiteboard: designing an agentic AI document processing platform. Stage 2 is a final with the hiring manager.
THE DETAILS
Up to £800/day. 3 days per week on site in West London, occasional central London, some European travel possible.

Director of HR Technology
Location: Dallas, TX (On-site)
Salary: Up to $280,000
This is a rare opportunity to define the long-term technology strategy for enterprise HR platforms-not simply maintain what’s already in place. The organization is looking for a technical leader who can modernize existing systems, drive AI and automation initiatives, and build the technology foundation that will support the business for years to come.
If you’ve successfully transformed enterprise HR platforms before and enjoy building roadmaps rather than inheriting them, this is an opportunity to have a lasting impact.
The Opportunity
You’ll lead a global HR Technology organization responsible for the architecture, delivery, and evolution of critical HR platforms supporting a large, international workforce.
This role combines technical leadership, people leadership, and strategic planning. You’ll partner closely with senior business and technology leaders to shape the future of HR technology while leading a global team of approximately 20-25 engineers, architects, and technical specialists.
Rather than focusing on day-to-day platform administration, you’ll be responsible for defining where the organization goes next.
Why This Role Stands Out
Build the Future, Don’t Maintain the Past
This isn’t a “keep the lights on” leadership position.
You’ll define the technology roadmap for HR platforms over the next several years, establishing the architecture, standards, and operating model that future teams will build upon.
Lead a Genuine Modernization
The current HR technology landscape has served the business well but relies heavily on manual processes and legacy workflows.
You’ll lead a large-scale modernization effort focused on simplifying operations, improving user experience, and creating a more scalable, intelligent platform.
Shape the AI Strategy
The organization has a clear vision to introduce AI-driven automation across HR operations.
From conversational employee experiences to intelligent workflow automation and self-service capabilities, you’ll play a central role in defining how AI is incorporated into the HR technology ecosystem over the next two to three years.
Strategic Leadership
You’ll serve as a trusted technology partner to senior HR and IT leadership, influencing enterprise technology decisions and helping shape long-term investment priorities.
This is a highly visible role with meaningful input into business strategy-not simply technical delivery.
Global Scale
You’ll lead a globally distributed team of approximately 22-25 technology professionals across the US and India, supporting enterprise platforms used by a large international workforce operating within a complex regulatory environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define the long-term architecture and roadmap for enterprise HR technology platforms.
- Lead a global team responsible for HR applications, integrations, and platform engineering.
- Drive modernization initiatives across enterprise HR systems.
- Build AI-powered automation and employee self-service capabilities.
- Improve platform scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with HR, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and Data teams.
- Establish technical standards, governance, and platform best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve the employee experience through automation and intelligent workflows.
- Lead technical transformation programs from strategy through delivery.
Technology Environment
You’ll work across a modern enterprise HR technology stack that includes:
- Oracle HCM Cloud
- UKG
- Databricks
- Enterprise integrations
- AI and conversational technologies
- Cloud-based enterprise platforms
What They’re Looking For
- Experience leading enterprise HR Technology or HRIS organizations.
- Strong Oracle HCM expertise, including architecture, integrations, and platform strategy.
- Experience modernizing large-scale enterprise HR platforms.
- Proven success leading technical teams through transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integrations, governance, security, and compliance.
- Experience implementing automation, AI, workflow orchestration, or digital employee experiences.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders across both business and technology functions.
- Experience operating within large, global organizations.
Preferred Experience
- Oracle HCM certifications.
- UKG experience.
- Exposure to Databricks or enterprise data platforms.
- Experience implementing chatbot, conversational AI, or intelligent self-service capabilities.
- Experience supporting global HR organizations across multiple regions.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to build something meaningful.
Rather than inheriting a fully mature environment, you’ll have the chance to shape the future direction of enterprise HR technology, modernize critical business platforms, and establish the technology foundation that will support the organization for years to come.
For someone who enjoys transformation, platform strategy, AI adoption, and leading high-performing technical teams, this represents a genuine opportunity to leave a lasting impact.
