This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data leader to shape and deliver a modern enterprise data platform from the ground up. Joining an organisation undergoing a significant data transformation, you will play a key role in defining strategy, building capability, and delivering a platform that will drive better decision-making across the business.

THE COMPANY

Our client is a large organisation undergoing a significant data transformation programme. They are investing heavily in modern data capabilities and a clear ambition to become a more data-driven business. You will join a growing technology and data function where teams across Data, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Commercial functions work closely together to drive strategic outcomes. This is a greenfield opportunity to help shape the future data landscape, influence platform strategy, and build a modern data capability from the ground up.

THE ROLE

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Define and deliver the organisation's data platform strategy, architecture and roadmap
  • Lead the design and implementation of an AWS-based lakehouse platform, modernising legacy data environments
  • Build, mentor and scale a high performing data organisation across engineering, governance, and platform capabilities
  • Establish best practices for data governance, security, architecture, and reporting standards
  • Oversee platform migration programmes, including the transition of legacy reporting solutions and system decommissioning
  • Collaborate with senior business and technology stakeholders to drive adoption of data-driven decision making and ensure alignment with organisational objectives

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience leading data platform strategy, architecture and transformation
  • Strong track record of building, scaling and developing high-performing data organisations
  • Previous experience leading people and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience within financial services is highly desirable
  • Pragmatic, commercially minded leadership approach with strong judgement and credibility
