I'm hiring a Business Intelligence & Visualisation Lead for a nationally recognised organisation at the heart of the UK's tourism industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced BI professional to take ownership of reporting, dashboarding, and self-service analytics across the business, supporting stakeholders with the data and insight they need to make informed decisions.

The role

You'll be the sole BI specialist within the Data & Analytics team, responsible for maintaining and developing the organisation's reporting capability during a major period of data transformation.

Working closely with the Head of Data & Analytics, Analytics Lead, Data Engineer, and Business Analyst, you'll play a critical role in ensuring reporting continuity while continuing to develop modern self-service analytics capabilities.

This role combines:

  • Power BI development
  • Microsoft Fabric reporting
  • Data modelling & semantic layers
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Self-service analytics
  • Reporting governance

What you'll be doing

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Build and improve self-service analytics capability across the organisation.
  • Create robust reporting solutions that support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, scalable, and user-friendly.

Data Modelling & Engineering

  • Develop and maintain semantic layers and reporting views.
  • Write SQL and DAX to support reporting requirements.
  • Work with Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric environments.
  • Support the transition away from an external data transformation partner.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Translate business needs into effective reporting solutions.
  • Present data and insight in an accessible, actionable format.
  • Manage expectations around reporting priorities and delivery.

Governance & Delivery

  • Maintain reporting documentation and standards.
  • Ensure GDPR and data governance compliance.
  • Contribute to agile sprint delivery and roadmap planning.
  • Identify risks, blockers, and data quality issues proactively.

What they're looking for

Essential

  • Significant experience in BI, reporting, or analytics roles.
  • Strong Power BI experience.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience with Azure Databricks.
  • Experience developing semantic layers and reporting models.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering skills.
  • Experience operating in agile or sprint-based environments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Nice to have

  • Microsoft Fabric experience.
  • Python experience.
  • Jira experience.
  • Experience with AI-assisted analytics tools such as Power BI Copilot or Databricks Genie.

Why this role?

  • Be the key BI expert within the Data & Analytics function.
  • Work with modern technologies including Fabric and Databricks.
  • Significant stakeholder exposure and business impact.
  • Opportunity to shape self-service analytics capability.
  • Join an organisation investing heavily in data, analytics, and AI.

Contract

  • 12-month maternity cover
  • Salary up to £60,000
  • Full-time

If you're a BI professional who enjoys combining Power BI development, stakeholder engagement, data modelling, and self-service analytics, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a high-impact role.
