Computer Graphics Research Scientist (Dental R&D)

Role – Computer Graphics Research Scientist (Dental R&D)
 Location – Fully Remote (U.S.)
 Pay – $60-$90 per hour
 Length – 3-month contract-to-hire

As a Computer Graphics Research Scientist, you will lead groundbreaking research and technical development at the intersection of computer graphics, computational geometry, and biomechanics. You’ll design advanced algorithms for 3D mesh processing, simulation, and rendering-driving innovation in digital dental prosthetics and shaping the next generation of dental design systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- 
Conduct advanced research in computer graphics algorithms for dental prosthetics design and manufacturing.

Develop and optimize 3D mesh processing algorithms for STL and PLY file formats used in dental CAD workflows.
 - 
Design and implement physical simulation systems for biomechanical analysis of dentures and crowns.
 - 
Create novel rendering and visualization techniques for dental prosthetics modeling.

Build robust 3D geometry processing pipelines to manage complex dental mesh data.

Collaborate with dental professionals, CAD designers, and AI/ML engineers to integrate cutting-edge graphics algorithms into clinical and research workflows.

Requirements:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or a related field.

Strong publication record in computer graphics, computational geometry, or related domains.
 - 
Expertise in C++ and Python for high-performance graphics and simulation development.
 - 
Deep understanding of 3D geometry processing, mesh algorithms, computational geometry, and finite element analysis.
 - 
Experience with STL, PLY, and other 3D file formats.
 - 
Knowledge of physics simulation frameworks and finite element modeling methods.
 - 
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and CUDA for graphics applications.

Industry experience is a plus.

About the Role
They are looking for a Manager to lead a growing Computer Vision Engineering team. This position is perfect for someone who can balance hands-on engineering with guiding and mentoring a team, setting the technical vision while driving delivery of production-ready AI solutions. In this role, you’ll spearhead the development of advanced vision pipelines-including diffusion, detection, segmentation, transformers, and 3D vision-and work on integrating them with large language models (LLMs) and vision-language models (VLMs) to build robust, real-world multimodal systems.
Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and support a team of computer vision and ML engineers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth

Strong hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow

Proven track record of deploying production-scale computer vision systems
 - 
Familiarity with vision transformers, multimodal models (e.g., CLIP, BLIP, Flamingo), and generative AI
 - 
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Based in the U.S. (NYC preferred, though remote is an option)

The Role

Responsibilities

THE ROLE
As a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, you’ll take ownership of designing, building, and deploying CV models that process and interpret a wide range of visual data.
You’ll be instrumental in shaping the company’s AI roadmap and embedding sophisticated visual understanding into production-ready tools used by field and office teams alike.
You will:
- Develop, train, and deploy CV models for object detection, image classification, segmentation, and more
 - Design scalable ML pipelines to support model training, evaluation, and integration
 - Work with proprietary datasets and define efficient labeling strategies to improve model performance
 - Collaborate cross-functionally with ML, backend, and product teams to build user-centric solutions
 - Apply state-of-the-art CV research, including visual transformers and multi-modal learning techniques, to production use cases
 - Stay up to date with innovations in LLMs, RAG pipelines, and vision-language models, contributing where appropriate
 
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We’re looking for a CV engineer who brings both depth in technical knowledge and a builder’s mindset.
Must-haves:
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, or a related field
 - 5+ years of experience building and deploying computer vision systems in production
 - Proficiency in Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV
 - Deep understanding of image processing, feature extraction, and model evaluation techniques
 - Hands-on experience with transformer-based CV models (e.g., ViT, DINO, SAM) and/or multi-modal architectures
 
Bonus skills:
