Data Engineer

Harnham is partnering with a fast growing, design led housing technology company that is changing how residential homes are designed, manufactured, delivered, and installed.

The business operates across accessory dwelling units, single family housing, and multifamily development, combining technology, design, manufacturing, construction, and real estate operations under one vertically integrated model. Rather than relying on a traditional fragmented building process, the company manages the lifecycle from design and factory production through permitting, delivery, installation, and ongoing operational support.

Continued expansion across California has created increasingly complex data needs across manufacturing, inventory, project management, finance, and field operations. The company is now hiring a Data Engineer to help build the data infrastructure needed to support that growth.

The Role

The Data Engineer will join a lean data function with significant ownership from day one.

Approximately 65% of the role will focus on hands on engineering and pipeline management, with the remaining 35% centered around stakeholder collaboration across operational teams.

You will take ownership of an existing production data environment while building new pipelines and improving visibility across the business as operations continue to scale.

What You Will Do

• Own, maintain, and improve approximately 20 existing production data pipelines

• Build new ETL and ELT pipelines as new data sources and business needs emerge

• Improve visibility into manufacturing, inventory, project, and operational data

• Ingest and structure external datasets, including publicly available housing data

• Partner directly with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into reliable data solutions

• Monitor production pipelines, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability

• Identify and resolve data quality issues at the source before they affect downstream users

• Support data originating from ERP, project management, design, and other operational systems

• Help establish scalable Data Engineering practices as the company and data function continue to grow

What We Are Looking For

• Approximately 2 to 4 years of professional Data Engineering experience

• Advanced SQL skills

• Strong experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting production ETL or ELT pipelines

• Experience owning data workflows from source through downstream consumption

• Strong understanding of data quality, reliability, and source system accuracy

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders

• Comfortable working in a fast moving environment with evolving priorities

• Broad technical experience and the ability to take ownership across different areas of the data stack
