Senior Data Scientist - MMM

£70,000-£90,000 + Bonus
Fully Remote (UK)

I'm hiring a Senior Data Scientist - Marketing for a fast-growing B-Corp marketplace operating across 60+ countries, helping thousands of people discover and book unique travel experiences while supporting local businesses.

This isn't a generic marketing analytics role.

They're looking for someone who is genuinely AI-native, highly commercial, and deeply experienced in marketing measurement, experimentation, incrementality, and modelling. You'll be responsible for helping answer one of the most important questions in any digital business:

What marketing activity is actually driving growth, and where should the next pound be invested?

The role

You'll report into the Head of Data and work closely with the Performance Marketing team, owning the business's marketing measurement and modelling capability.

This role sits at the intersection of:

  • Marketing Science
  • Data Science
  • Experimentation
  • Causal Inference
  • Budget Optimisation
  • AI-enabled analytics

You'll be trusted to challenge conventional thinking, validate what's truly driving growth, and influence where significant marketing budgets are invested.

What you'll be doing

Marketing Mix Modelling

  • Own and evolve the company's Marketing Mix Model (MMM).
  • Work with frameworks such as:
    • Meridian
    • Robyn
    • PyMC-Marketing
  • Translate model outputs into real budget allocation decisions.
  • Build response curves, saturation models, marginal CAC analysis and investment recommendations.

Experimentation & Incrementality

  • Design and validate robust marketing experiments.
  • Support lift testing, holdouts, geo-experiments and incrementality studies.
  • Evaluate results using rigorous statistical methods.
  • Separate genuine signal from marketing noise.

Attribution & Signal Quality

  • Improve understanding of conversion attribution and marketing effectiveness.
  • Understand how privacy changes affect data quality and marketing measurement.
  • Support value-based bidding and predicted value feedback loops into major advertising platforms.

Advanced Modelling

  • Own and develop customer lifetime value (LTV) models.
  • Build predictive cohort models and uplift models.
  • Improve targeting, retention, and commercial performance through modelling and experimentation.

What they're looking for

Essential

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM)
    • Incrementality testing
    • Lift studies
    • Geo-testing
    • Marketing experimentation
  • Strong statistical background covering:
    • Hypothesis testing
    • Causal inference
    • Power analysis
    • Sample size calculation
    • Regression modelling
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Python experience (pandas, scikit-learn, scipy, statsmodels).
  • Experience working with modern analytics stacks.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to marketing and commercial stakeholders.
  • Comfortable using AI to improve experiment design, workflow efficiency and analytical processes.

Nice to have

  • Bayesian modelling (PyMC, Stan).
  • Value-based bidding.
  • Offline conversion uploads.
  • Marketplace, travel, subscription or considered-purchase environments.
  • LTV and payback modelling experience.

Why this role?

  • Fully remote UK role.
  • Own one of the most commercially important areas of the business.
  • Significant influence over marketing investment decisions.
  • Work in a genuinely data-driven environment.
  • Partner directly with performance marketing and business leadership.
  • Join a company with strong values, international growth and an excellent customer reputation.

Package

  • £70,000-£90,000 salary.
  • Annual performance-based bonus.
  • 38 days annual leave (including public holidays).
  • Private healthcare.
  • Generous pension scheme.
  • Fully remote setup with home office budget.
  • Access to co-working spaces.
  • Company-wide meetups and travel benefits.

Interview process

  1. Introductory interview (30-45 minutes).
  2. Take-home marketing measurement case study.
  3. Technical and presentation interview.
  4. Informal Q&A with the wider team.

This role would suit someone currently working as a Marketing Data Scientist, Marketing Science Manager, Measurement Scientist, MMM Specialist, Incrementality Lead, Growth Data Scientist, or Commercial Data Scientist who wants end-to-end ownership of marketing measurement in a high-growth, data-led business.
