NEWCASTLE (HYBRID – 2 DAYS PER WEEK)
This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally recognised professional services organisation that is investing heavily in Data, Cloud and AI capabilities. You’ll play a key role in shaping and owning a modern enterprise data platform, working alongside highly skilled engineers and architects while influencing technical decisions across the business.

This role sits within a growing technology function and offers the opportunity to work on a strategic platform at the centre of the organisation’s future data roadmap.
THE ROLE
- Own and oversee a cloud-based enterprise data platform built on Azure technologies
- Act as the technical lead for platform-related decisions, scalability and performance improvements
- Work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Architecture and Engineering teams
- Ensure platform reliability, governance, monitoring and operational excellence
- Troubleshoot complex platform, networking, storage and integration issues
- Drive best practice across CI/CD, automation and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Support Data Engineers by removing technical barriers and improving platform capabilities
- Contribute to platform modernisation, AI enablement and continuous improvement initiatives
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or a similar field
- Excellent Azure experience within enterprise-scale environments
- Experience supporting and optimising cloud-based data platforms
- Strong understanding of Azure Data Factory, Databricks and modern data architecture principles
- Experience with CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Git and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
- Strong knowledge of Python and platform automation
- Experience making technical and architectural decisions
- Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
- Experience within regulated environments would be beneficial
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- £73,000 – £84,000 base salary

Marketing Automation Engineer
You will be responsible for building and enhancing the systems, automations, and data flows that support customer acquisition, conversion, and retention.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and optimise automated customer journeys across email and digital marketing channels.
- Analyse customer and behavioural data to identify cohorts, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Develop customer re-engagement journeys based on website and purchase behaviour.
- Use SQL and BigQuery to interrogate and transform marketing and customer data.
- Design and maintain integrations between CRM, marketing, advertising, and business systems.
- Build and optimise conversion tracking and attribution frameworks.
- Develop marketing data feeds for advertising and remarketing platforms.
- Translate marketing requirements into scalable technical solutions and automations.
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across multiple customer touchpoints.
- Partner with marketing, data, and engineering teams to measure performance and optimise outcomes.
- Support experimentation and CRO initiatives through data, automation, and implementation.
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with JavaScript and Node.js.
- Advanced SQL skills, ideally including BigQuery.
- Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Strong understanding of customer data, segmentation, and behavioural analysis.
- Experience building automated customer journeys and lifecycle marketing programmes.
- Knowledge of marketing automation platforms and CRM workflows.
- Experience with API integrations and connecting multiple business systems.
- Understanding of conversion tracking, attribution, and performance measurement.
- Familiarity with remarketing and digital advertising ecosystems.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Desirable experience includes:
- SendGrid, Klaviyo, or similar marketing platforms.
- AWS services, including serverless technologies.
- Event-driven architectures and workflow automation.
- Affiliate marketing platforms.
- Email deliverability optimisation.
- Attribution modelling or incrementality testing.
- Experience within regulated consumer-facing environments.
