This company is going through a massive transformation and is looking for a data leader who’s ready to rebuild how an organisation thinks about, governs, and uses its data from the ground up. This is a high-impact, highly visible position where you’ll be working closely with Senior Leadership to drive real change across data quality, privacy and compliance.
THE ROLE:
A Head of Data Management will need to:
- Own and deliver the enterprise Data Management Strategy
- Lead data stewardship
- Evolve and mature data governance
- Oversee the full data lifecycle
- Partner with senior leaders
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
A successful Head of Data Management will have the following skills and experience:
- Strong experience with ETL, APIs and modern cloud data platforms
- Skilled in SQL and Python
- Knowledge of data quality tools
- Understanding of data governance frameworks, lifecycle management and architecture
- Experience working in regulated environments

Hybrid – Nottingham (3 days a week)
A massive transformation is underway, and this business is looking for a data leader who’s ready to take the reins. This is a brand-new role with huge scope – the chance to rebuild how an organisation thinks about, governs, and uses its data from the ground up.
Reporting directly into the Director, you’ll lead a team of 12 (including four Managers) and take full ownership of data management, governance, and the full data lifecycle. This is a high-impact, highly visible position where you’ll be working closely with Senior Leadership, Technology, Risk and the CDO to drive real change across data quality, privacy and compliance.
THE ROLE
In this strategic, hands-on role, you will:

Own and deliver the enterprise Data Management Strategy

Lead data stewardship across analytical, operational and policy environments
-
Evolve and mature data governance, data quality frameworks and risk processes
-
Oversee the full data lifecycle – ensuring data is discoverable, trusted and well governed
-
Partner with senior leaders, Risk, the DPO and Technology to meet regulatory standards
-
Play a central role in a major enterprise-wide data transformation
TECHNICAL SKILLSET
-
Strong experience with ETL, APIs and modern cloud data platforms
-
Skilled in SQL and Python (automation a strong advantage)

Knowledge of data quality tools (e.g. Informatica)
-
Understanding of data governance frameworks, lifecycle management and architecture
-
Experience working in regulated environments or data-risk heavy settings is a big plus

About the Role
My client is looking for a strong candidate who will lead a team of 12 as Head of Data Management. You’ll set the strategic direction, drive change in data governance practices, and lead a multi-year transformation of how the organisation manages data risk, stewardship, and quality.
With strong backing from senior leadership, this role offers both strategic influence and hands-on leadership to develop a modern, scalable approach to enterprise data management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the organisation’s Data Management Strategy.
- Lead large-scale data governance and data management transformation initiatives.
- Take responsibility for data risk policies, data stewardship (analytical, operational, and policy), and data architecture governance.
- Establish and embed strong data governance frameworks and lifecycle practices.
- Work closely with a wide range of senior stakeholders
- Provide strategic and operational stewardship over data quality, metadata, and regulatory compliance processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in how data is governed, accessed, and utilised across the organisation.
Experience & Background
- Proven experience leading data management or data governance functions.
- Background may come from data engineering, data quality, or prior data governance leadership.
- Experience delivering data transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance environments (Financial Services helpful but not essential).
- Demonstrable success leading high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.

- Sub-teams include:
– Customer Campaigns (campaign building, analysis, personalisation, segmentation)
– Business Reporting & MI
– Risk Events & Recovery (analytics to mitigate adverse events)
– Regulatory Reporting
- Team placement depends on skillset and headcount, decided at offer stage.
- Internal movement across teams is common.
Role Overview:
A core analytics role focused on data extraction, manipulation, insight generation, and stakeholder collaboration. You will work with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and deliver analytical solutions that drive business performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extract and manipulate data from multiple sources.
- Use analytics to deliver insights for key business areas.
- Build and develop analytical solutions to support decision-making.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into actionable outputs.
- Support reporting, optimisation, customer understanding, and business strategy.
Requirements:
- Advanced SQL (essential).
- Python (highly beneficial; two headcounts require Python).
- Data visualisation experience (Tableau preferred, but any tool accepted).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Numerical, analytical, and quantitative capability.
- 2+ years in a Data Analyst role.
- Financial Services experience beneficial but not required.
- STEM degree preferred but not essential.
Interview Process:
- Online Assessment (20 mins): situational questions assessing competencies and cultural alignment.
- Job Fit Interview (30-45 mins): job-specific skills, one short quantitative task, and hypothetical SQL/Python questions (if applicable).
- Behavioural Interview: competency-based, STAR‑style questions.
- Final In‑Person Interview: case study and live practical assessment.
