Overview

A leading consumer technology and entertainment organisation is seeking a Contract UX Designer to help evolve and enhance its B2B digital acquisition and merchandising experience.

This is a hands-on role for a designer who combines strong visual design skills with practical UX thinking. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day design of a customer-facing business website, creating engaging digital experiences while contributing to the evolution of an established design ecosystem.

This opportunity offers the chance to influence the visual direction of a major digital platform, including the introduction of a new dark-mode design language, enhancements to the component library, and improvements to the overall customer experience.

Working within established design and development frameworks, you'll help identify opportunities to refine and elevate existing patterns while delivering high-quality designs that are ready for implementation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the design of B2B digital merchandising, marketing, and customer acquisition experiences from concept through to production-ready delivery.
  • Translate complex products, offers, and business requirements into intuitive, engaging user experiences.
  • Contribute to the evolution of a new dark-mode design direction, proposing patterns, component enhancements, and visual solutions.
  • Create polished layouts and digital assets with exceptional attention to hierarchy, typography, imagery, interaction design, and visual composition.
  • Work within an established Figma design system while identifying opportunities to improve and expand reusable components.
  • Build and maintainscalableFigma components using:
    • Auto Layout
    • Variants
    • Component Properties
    • Variables
    • Design Libraries
  • Collaborate closely with product stakeholders, developers, producers, and the wider design team.
  • Deliver developer-ready designs, specifications, and documentation with consistency and precision.
  • Apply UX best practices and accessibility standards, including WCAG guidelines.
  • Utilise user research, analytics, testing, and A/B experimentation insights to optimise experiences.
  • Clearly communicate design decisions and rationale to cross-functional teams.
  • Balance creativity with delivery, ensuring high-quality work is delivered within project timelines.

  • Experience designing customer-facing web experiences, particularly within:

    • E-commerce

  • Strong understanding of:

  • Excellent visual design skills with a strong eye for:
    • Composition
    • Typography
    • Spacing

    • Detail
  • Experience preparing production-ready digital assets for web delivery.
  • Advanced proficiency with Figma, including:
    • Auto Layout
    • Components
    • Variants
    • Variables
    • Libraries
    • Component Properties
  • Experience working within established design systems.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Understanding of responsive web design and front-end implementation considerations.
  • Ability to balance customer needs, business priorities, technical constraints, and project deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:

  • Motion design, animation, or video production.
  • Adobe After Effects.
  • User testing and experimentation programmes.
  • UX writing or content design.
  • B2B digital platforms and customer journeys.
  • E-commerce or subscription-based products.
  • Designing, scaling, or evolving design systems and component libraries.

AI & Emerging Technologies

The organisation is interested in designers who leverage emerging technologies to enhance creativity and productivity.

Experience using AI-assisted tools within a design workflow is advantageous, including areas such as:

  • Concept development
  • Image generation or refinement
  • Rapid prototyping
  • Design exploration
  • Production acceleration

Familiarity with AI-powered design and productivity tools is welcomed, alongside a curiosity for emerging technologies and innovation.


Portfolio Requirements

A portfolio is required as part of the application process.

The portfolio should demonstrate:

  1. Strong visual design craft through polished digital experiences.
  2. Clear UX thinking and evidence of problem-solving beyond interface design.
  3. Design system expertise, including reusable components, patterns, and scalable solutions.
  4. Experience in commerce, acquisition, or B2B environments (beneficial but not essential).
