£90,000 + benefits

This is an opportunity to join a commercially focused digital business where technology, customer data and marketing directly influence growth. You will work across engineering, marketing, CRM and data to build automated customer journeys, improve conversion and turn behavioural insights into measurable revenue outcomes.

The Company

They are a digital marketplace business serving a large consumer customer base. Customer experience and conversion optimisation are central to their growth strategy, with an established experimentation roadmap and an increasing focus on bringing technical marketing capability in-house. They have a collaborative UK technology function alongside a broader international operation, with AI increasingly being used to support experimentation, development and analysis.

The Role

As a MarTech Engineer, you will work closely with senior technology and marketing stakeholders to connect customer data, marketing technology and engineering.

You will:

  • Build and optimise automated customer journeys across email and other marketing channels.
  • Analyse customer behaviour to identify valuable cohorts, conversion opportunities and points of drop-off.
  • Use SQL and BigQuery to interrogate customer and behavioural data.
  • Develop re-engagement journeys for customers who do not complete key conversion steps.
  • Translate marketing requirements into technical rules, processes and scalable automations.
  • Build and maintain integrations between customer, CRM, marketing and wider business systems.
  • Develop reliable conversion data feeds into advertising platforms.
  • Support remarketing activity and optimisation across platforms such as Google Ads.
  • Connect marketing activity with purchases and revenue to improve measurement and attribution.
  • Build automations that enable marketing teams to operate more effectively.
  • Maintain data quality and consistency across customer and marketing systems.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to improve how and when customers are engaged.
  • Contribute to conversion rate optimisation and experimentation initiatives with clear commercial outcomes.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience working across MarTech, marketing engineering, CRM engineering or a similar technical marketing environment.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience querying and interpreting customer or behavioural datasets.
  • Experience with BigQuery or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
  • Development experience with JavaScript and Node.js.
  • Experience building integrations, APIs, data feeds or automated workflows between platforms.
  • Understanding of CRM and marketing automation technology.
  • Experience working with digital advertising, remarketing or conversion tracking.
  • Ability to translate marketing objectives into robust technical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of customer journeys, conversion funnels and data-led optimisation.
  • Confidence collaborating across engineering, data and marketing teams.
  • Experience with Salesforce and AWS would be beneficial.

What They Offer

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience.
  • Hybrid working within a collaborative UK technology environment.
  • Direct exposure to senior technology and marketing leadership.
  • The opportunity to influence a substantial conversion optimisation and experimentation roadmap.
  • A role combining hands-on engineering with measurable commercial impact.
  • Scope to help shape an increasingly important in-house MarTech capability.
