The business leverages data-driven decision-making to deliver innovative financial products and services.

  • Role: Lead Data Scientist (Contract)
  • Location: New York, NY
  • Pay: $90-120 per hour
  • Length: Extendable 6-month initial contract
  • Utilization: 40 hours/week

As a Lead Data Scientist, you will join a high-performing Risk & Analytics team, working on customer, borrower, and investor analytics initiatives. You'll partner with stakeholders across the business to develop analytical frameworks, drive strategic decision-making, and deliver data-driven insights that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand business needs, developing analytical frameworks to solve complex business problems.
  • Recommend optimal business strategies using historical performance analysis, predictive analytics, and scenario modelling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement analytical recommendations and business initiatives.
  • Partner with marketing teams to support ongoing customer management strategies across multiple channels.
  • Create and maintain automated management information reporting to track business performance and support external stakeholders.
  • Design and develop predictive models and testing frameworks while driving analytics best practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, finance-related, or similar field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in analytics, ideally within financial services, business finance, credit products, or e-commerce environments.
  • Strong coding skills in SQL, Python, and/or R.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems using analytical and statistical methods.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.
