This is an opportunity to shape the future of enterprise data within a large-scale transformation programme. You'll play a pivotal role in defining data modelling standards, building an enterprise data model that supports AI and self-service analytics, and establishing best practices that will influence future programmes across the organisation.

The Company

They are a large, well-established FTSE 100 organisation investing heavily in the modernisation of their data landscape. As part of a significant enterprise transformation, they are consolidating multiple data platforms to create a scalable, future-ready data environment. Their focus is on enabling advanced analytics, AI capabilities, and improved decision-making through a robust enterprise data strategy. You will join a collaborative data function working closely with business and technical stakeholders.

The Role and Deliverables

  • Design enterprise logical and physical data models across multiple business domains.
  • Develop and implement a repeatable enterprise data modelling framework, methodology, and playbook.
  • Define and promote data modelling standards, principles, and best practices across the organisation.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable data models in collaboration with architects, engineers, and business analysts.
  • Build enterprise data models that support AI initiatives, self-service analytics, and future data products.
  • Contribute to data governance objectives and support the wider enterprise data unification strategy.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience delivering enterprise data modelling as a core discipline.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise data modelling methodologies, including Kimball, Inmon, and dimensional modelling.
  • Familiarity with Data Vault approaches and broader enterprise modelling concepts.
  • Ability to design logical and physical data models from first principles without reliance on modelling software.
  • Comfortable communicating data models through workshops, whiteboards, Visio, Excel, or other visual techniques.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills.
  • Experience working within modern cloud data platforms and analytics environments.
  • Knowledge of Medallion Architecture and modern data transformation approaches.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable cloud data platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex modelling concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience influencing standards, facilitating workshops, and gathering business requirements.
