THE ROLE

As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a vital role in a data transformation program, focusing on optimising data models and enabling analytics-driven insights. You will also be responsible for post-project documentation, ensuring clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing scalable dbt models for efficient data transformation.
  • Optimising ELT pipelines, ensuring clean and well-structured data for analytics.
  • Enhancing dbt best practices, including modularity, testing, and version control.
  • Collaborating with data engineers to integrate dbt into cloud data warehouses.
  • Creating clear documentation to communicate technical processes effectively.

KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Strong commercial experience with dbt and its ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data modelling and transformation.
  • Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Understanding of ELT processes and cloud-based data architecture best practices.
  • Familiarity with performance tuning and dbt documentation/testing strategies.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and their data services.
