What You’ll Do

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve data systems and analytical capabilities

What We’re Looking For

  • 7-10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Machine Learning, or Advanced Analytics
  • Strong experience designing and implementing modern cloud-based data architectures
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, and modern analytical tooling
  • Strong understanding of distributed data systems, data modeling, and scalable platform design
  • Experience supporting machine learning workflows and production analytical systems
  • Strong experience with cloud-native data platforms and storage systems
  • Experience with experimentation frameworks, measurement systems, and performance analysis
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams
  • Proven experience influencing data strategy and architectural direction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data mesh, lakehouse, or federated data architectures
  • Exposure to modern machine learning platforms and cloud-native AI tooling

The client works on high impact data systems and is modernizing their data stack from manual SQL processes into scalable, maintainable pipelines. They are focused on improving reliability without significantly expanding headcount.

Role Details
Role: Data / DevOps Engineer
Location: Fully remote (US, EST preferred)
Pay: $55 to $65 per hour
Length: 12 month contract (part time, 25 to 30 hours per week)

Intro to role
This role is focused on building a data platform from the ground up. You will implement dbt to replace legacy SQL scripts, design modular and reusable code, and ensure data pipelines can operate across multiple database environments. You will also set up core development workflows such as version control and CI/CD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement dbt models to replace legacy SQL workflows
  • Design modular, reusable data transformations that can run across multiple databases
  • Set up Git based version control and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
