Director of Engineering
$240,000 – $300,000 base + meaningful equity
Remote for the first 6-12 months, then one day per week on-site in your nearest city NYC, San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle.

Backed by top-tier investors and driven by innovation, we’re looking for a Director of Engineering to lead technical excellence while staying deeply hands-on.
THE ROLE
As Director of Engineering, you’ll split your time between technical leadership (80%) and people management (20%). You’ll guide architecture, write and review code, and solve high-impact engineering challenges-while mentoring a talented, agile team of 7-15 engineers.
Technical Leadership (80%)
- Design and evolve architecture for scalable, high-performance systems.
- Own the code: write, review, debug, and optimize critical services.
- Build and maintain distributed systems and large-scale data pipelines.
- Improve system reliability, latency, and throughput with a DevOps mindset.
- Champion testing, documentation, and clean, maintainable code.
- Drive automation across monitoring, CI/CD, and incident response.
- Contribute to open-source efforts aligned with our tech stack.
Team Leadership (20%)
- Mentor engineers and support their technical and professional growth.
- Lead Agile ceremonies and ensure on-time, high-quality project delivery.
- Align engineering efforts with broader business and product goals.
- Foster a collaborative, transparent, and high-performing team culture.
SJILLS
Experience & Background
- 7-12 years of experience in hands-on software engineering roles.
- Strong background in scalable distributed systems and SaaS environments.
- Previous experience mentoring or leading small engineering teams.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Ruby, Python, or TypeScript (one or more).
- Deep experience with data pipelines and large-scale data processing.
- Advocates for engineering best practices, including testing and code quality.

THE ROLE
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Integration Infrastructure team, you will lead the design and development of scalable integration systems. This includes building third-party API connectors for ERP application.
- Architect Scalable Systems: Design and implement integration infrastructure with 99.999% uptime and real-time data sync.
- API Development: Build and maintain secure, scalable connectors for ERP and healthcare platforms.
- Hands-On Engineering: Write clean, efficient code and conduct code reviews to uphold technical excellence.
- Best Practices: Drive standards for testing, observability, and performance monitoring.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate integration requirements into technical solutions in partnership with internal and external teams.
- Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and contribute to the technical vision and roadmap.
YOUR SKILLS
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in distributed systems and third-party integrations.
- Strong background in languages such as Ruby, Python, or TypeScript.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep understanding of API design (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and integration patterns.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
