San Francisco, CA (Hybrid, 3 days/week)

$180,000 - $200,000 Base Salary + Bonus

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for APIs that power our financial simulation and scoring engine. This role bridges product, engineering, and data science, delivering robust developer-facing APIs and a first-class integration experience. You will drive how external partners and internal teams access our simulation logic, ensuring scalability, reliability, and usability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the API product lifecycle: roadmap, requirements, and execution.
  • Define RESTful API endpoints supporting simulation capabilities and scoring logic.
  • Establish and enforce standards for versioning, documentation, authentication, and error handling.
  • Partner with data science and engineering to operationalize scoring models via APIs.
  • Drive developer experience: author OpenAPI/Swagger docs, SDKs, sandbox environments, and onboarding flows.
  • Collaborate with external partners during API integration; provide product and technical guidance.
  • Define API usage metrics, SLAs, rate limits, and monitor adoption and performance.
  • Translate complex workflows into user stories, specs, and prioritized backlog items.
  • Lead sprint planning and balance technical debt with enhancements and fixes.
  • Measure API health and developer feedback to inform iterations and roadmap priorities.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in product management, including 2+ years owning APIs as products.
  • Proven experience in fintech and/or startups, with comfort operating in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong grasp of API design (REST, JSON, OAuth, rate limiting, pagination, etc.).
  • Hands-on knowledge of modern tech stacks and cloud platforms (Python, AWS, etc.).
  • Experience with enterprise-grade API management & documentation tools (Postman, Swagger, Apigee).
  • Background working with backend systems, credit data pipelines, or simulation engines.
  • Strong communication skills to interface with engineering teams and external partners.
