THE COMPANY
We are working with a supply chain & logistics company seeking to advance their data capabilities for real-time analytics and machine learning. They are looking for a Staff Data Engineer to support their digital transformation project initiative, focusing on scaling data infrastructure to power cutting-edge data analytics and processing.

THE ROLE - STAFF DATA ENGINEER
As a Staff Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for architecting and managing scalable data infrastructure to enable advanced analytics and machine learning. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with data scientists to provide infrastructure and tools for complex analytical models, utilizing Python or R for data processing.
  • Designing and building robust data pipelines with Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka to efficiently process diverse, large-scale data.
  • Developing and optimizing data models and storage solutions (SQL, NoSQL, Data Lakes) for both operational and analytical use.
  • Managing cloud environments (AWS or Azure) and leveraging services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and Azure Data Lake for effective data handling.
  • Automating ETL workflows with tools like Apache Airflow and Talend to streamline data integration and ensure timely data availability.
  • Ensuring adherence to data governance and security standards, including implementing data encryption, masking, and access controls.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years in data engineering with a solid track record in designing and managing large-scale data pipelines.
  • Proficient in big data technologies, including Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka, and experienced with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud services, particularly AWS and/or Azure, with experience integrating Databricks for seamless data processing.
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in programming languages relevant to data engineering (Python, Java, Scala).
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases, including data modeling, analysis, and writing stored procedures.
  • Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solution Architect, Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark, and Azure Data Engineer Associate.
  • Familiarity with deploying and managing machine learning models is advantageous.

BENEFITS
This role offers a competitive base salary of $200,000 - $220,000, along with a performance-based bonus, health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
