About the Company

This global enterprise is investing heavily in the modernization of its workforce technology ecosystem, viewing HR technology as a strategic driver of employee experience, operational efficiency, and business transformation rather than simply a support function.

The organization is embarking on a multi-year technology evolution focused on intelligent automation, AI-enabled workflows, and modern enterprise architecture. Engineering leaders are empowered to influence strategy, challenge the status quo, and build scalable technology platforms that serve a global workforce.

The culture values technical excellence, ownership, innovation, and collaboration across engineering and business leadership.

About the Role

This is not a traditional HRIS leadership position.

This role is for an engineering leader who can define the future of enterprise workforce technology. You'll own the technology strategy, architecture, engineering execution, and modernization roadmap for a global HR technology organization while leading a distributed engineering team responsible for enterprise-scale workforce platforms.

You'll partner directly with HR leadership and executive stakeholders to transform legacy processes into AI-enabled, self-service experiences powered by modern engineering practices, scalable integrations, and intelligent automation.

This is an opportunity to build the technology foundation that will shape workforce operations for years to come.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a global engineering organization responsible for enterprise workforce technology platforms.
  • Define and execute the long-term technology strategy, architecture, and modernization roadmap.
  • Drive platform transformation through API-first architecture, cloud-native engineering, and scalable integration patterns.
  • Build AI-enabled automation, intelligent workflows, and self-service capabilities that improve employee experiences.
  • Establish engineering standards, architectural governance, and software delivery best practices.
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and executive stakeholders to translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead enterprise platform modernization while balancing security, compliance, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor engineering leaders and cultivate a high-performing global engineering organization.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve platform capabilities through AI and automation.

Must Haves

  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience managing enterprise technology organizations.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise architecture, software engineering, and cloud-native application design.
  • Significant experience leading enterprise workforce technology platforms, with Oracle HCM expertise strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integrations, APIs, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
  • Experience leading large-scale platform modernization initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success implementing AI, intelligent automation, generative AI, or agentic workflows within enterprise environments.
  • Experience leading global engineering teams across multiple geographic regions.
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence senior business stakeholders.
  • Experience operating within highly regulated enterprise environments with strong governance, audit, and compliance requirements.

Nice to Have

  • Oracle HCM certifications.
  • Experience with UKG or comparable workforce management platforms.
  • Experience with Databricks or modern enterprise data platforms.
  • DevSecOps leadership experience.
  • Experience implementing enterprise chatbot or self-service automation platforms.
  • Background leading digital employee experience or workforce technology transformation initiatives.

Why Join

  • Define the future of enterprise workforce technology rather than maintaining legacy systems.
  • Lead a multi-year modernization initiative focused on AI, automation, self-service, and next-generation employee experiences.
  • Partner directly with executive leadership and HR executives to influence enterprise-wide technology strategy.
  • Build and lead a global engineering organization with significant ownership, visibility, and autonomy.
  • Shape the architecture, engineering standards, and AI roadmap for a business-critical technology portfolio.
  • Competitive compensation of $225,000-$275,000 base, plus bonus and long-term incentives, with the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on a global enterprise.
