On behalf of our client, a premier global enterprise, we are conducting a confidential search for a Director of Workforce Technology Engineering to serve as the foundation-setter for their global HR technology stack. In this highly visible role, you won't just administer an existing setup-you will have a direct mandate to completely modernize how this global organization powers the employee lifecycle.

Sitting on the extended HR leadership team, you will bridge the gap between deep software engineering and strategic business transformation, architecting a 2-3 year vision centered heavily on automation, self-service models, and agentic workflows.

The Mission: What You Will Accomplish

  • Drive the Modernization Roadmap: Move the core platforms away from heavy manual processes and gatekeeping, transforming them into an automated, chatbot-enabled self-service model for global HR stakeholders.
  • Architect the Future State: Serve as the senior technical authority defining engineering standards, API-first integration frameworks, and AI/ML strategies across a complex global footprint.
  • Lead a Global Engineering Team: Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of 22-23 developers and data engineers split between Dallas and Bangalore (with ~70-80% of the team based in India).
  • Own Build vs. Buy Decisions: Evaluate, configure, extend, or retire technologies across workforce management, talent management, and HR service management (HRSM).
  • Navigate Global Complexity: Partner with Finance, Legal, and HR executives to deliver compliant, scalable solutions that withstand rigorous regulatory and audit standards.

  • Data Platform: Databricks
  • Target State Focus: Advanced APIs, Event-Driven Architectures, Generative AI, and Intelligent Automation.

Must-Haves

This role requires a unique blend of a genuine affinity for HR systems, heavy enterprise architecture experience, and the confidence to guide challenging stakeholders.

  • 10+ years of technology leadership experience, specifically leading global teams and enterprise-scale HR platforms.
  • Deep Oracle HCM Expertise: You have a strong background in larger-scale legacy systems and possess a genuine interest in optimizing Oracle HCM integrations.
  • Transformation & AI Track Record: Proven experience designing and implementing AI-enabled enterprise solutions (GenAI, agentic workflows, or advanced analytics).
  • Architecture Credentials: Strong foundation in cloud-native platforms, API-first design, event-driven architectures, and DevSecOps.
  • Regulatory Acumen: A solid understanding of how compliance and audit impacts HR technology in a massive, global company.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oracle HCM Certifications are highly preferred.
  • Experience navigating platform modernizations across mixed ecosystems (Oracle HCM, UKG, Workday).
