Overview

A rapidly growing financial services organisation is seeking a senior AI product leader to help drive its enterprise AI transformation. This role will serve as a key strategic partner to an executive sponsor, translating business objectives into scalable AI solutions and leading delivery across multiple initiatives.
The successful candidate will combine strong product leadership, AI expertise, and execution discipline, overseeing product strategy, technical design, delivery governance, and stakeholder alignment. This position offers significant visibility with senior leadership and the opportunity to influence how AI capabilities are developed and adopted across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Product Design & AI Transformation

  • Partner with executive leadership to convert business goals into actionable product and technical roadmaps.
  • Conduct discovery sessions with subject matter experts to understand current processes and redesign them using AI-first approaches.
  • Develop detailed product requirements, workflow designs, and implementation blueprints for AI-enabled solutions.
  • Ensure regulatory, compliance, explainability, and governance requirements are incorporated into product designs from inception.

Product Leadership & Delivery Execution

  • Serve as the primary product lead across multiple concurrent AI initiatives.
  • Facilitate decision-making, prioritisation, and execution to maintain programme momentum.
  • Coordinate efforts among data science, engineering, technology infrastructure, and business teams.
  • Establish and maintain standards for documentation, process mapping, and product design reviews.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a team of AI Product Managers.

Vendor & Engineering Governance

  • Act as the primary liaison for external engineering and implementation partners.
  • Evaluate technical proposals, architecture recommendations, and solution designs.
  • Ensure development partners deliver against clearly defined specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Define measurable quality standards and testing requirements for milestone approvals.

Quality Assurance & Evaluation Frameworks

  • Design evaluation frameworks for AI-enabled systems, including quality controls, review workflows, and performance measurement standards.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to create benchmark datasets, validation criteria, and production readiness requirements.
  • Support ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement of AI solutions.

Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership

  • Drive alignment and adoption across business functions including operations, sales, finance, and risk-focused teams.
  • Communicate programme status, risks, trade-offs, and performance metrics to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead organisational change efforts and address adoption challenges associated with new technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of product management experience, including successful delivery of AI-enabled products from concept through production deployment.
  • Experience contributing directly to AI solution design and product architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather business requirements from domain experts and convert them into scalable AI product strategies.
  • Experience managing external technology or engineering partners through full delivery lifecycles.
  • Proven success leading multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders across business and technical functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within financial services, lending, payments, fintech, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with compliance, auditability, and model governance requirements in regulated environments.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Track record delivering production-scale AI products in fast-paced, growth-oriented companies.

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced understanding of large language models (LLMs), AI agents, orchestration frameworks, model evaluation techniques, and AI risk mitigation practices.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, governance standards, and explainable AI principles.
  • Expertise in process discovery, workflow optimisation, and business transformation.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
