I'm hiring a Data QA Engineer to join a growing data function supporting a major Lakehouse and Databricks programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience testing data platforms, pipelines, and analytics products who wants to play a key role in defining quality standards across a modern data environment.

The role

This role sits at the heart of the data engineering function, working closely with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure data products are robust, reliable, and production-ready.

Approximately 60% of the role focuses on testing, with the remaining time spent collaborating within the Databricks and PySpark environment, helping improve quality, processes, and delivery standards.

You'll be joining a team that needs someone capable of operating independently, taking ownership of testing activities, and helping define what great Data QA looks like.

What you'll be doing

  • Test the Data Platform and associated data products
  • Define and improve testing approaches, standards, and frameworks
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and data validation testing
  • Work closely with Data and Analytics Engineers to identify issues early in the development lifecycle
  • Log, manage, and track defects through to resolution
  • Drive continuous improvement across testing practices and tooling
  • Participate in development and collaboration activities within Databricks and PySpark environments
  • Help establish quality standards across the wider data team
