Lead Credit Risk Analyst

Location: Leicester (Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office)

Salary: Up to £65,000 + Benefits

THE COMPANY

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading consumer lending business as part of a growing Credit Risk function. Working within a collaborative team, you'll play a key role in shaping lending strategies, improving customer outcomes and supporting business growth through data-driven decision making. With a range of transformation projects underway, it's an excellent time to join a business investing heavily in its Credit Risk capability.

THE ROLE

As a Lead Credit Risk Analyst, you will develop and optimise lending strategies across an existing customer portfolio, balancing commercial growth with responsible lending.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement lending, affordability and credit limit strategies.
  • Analyse portfolio performance to identify risks and commercial opportunities.
  • Design and evaluate strategy tests to improve customer outcomes.
  • Deliver portfolio analysis, MI and customer trend reporting.
  • Work closely with modelling teams to implement strategic changes.
  • Support the rollout of a new behavioural scorecard and credit decisioning system.
  • Present strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across the wider business to deliver key Credit Risk projects.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience within Retail Credit Risk or Consumer Lending (e.g. credit cards, loans or mortgages).
  • Experience working on Existing Customer Management (ECM), acquisition or lending strategies.
  • Knowledge of credit limit management, affordability or pricing strategy.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Exposure to SAS or Python is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
