THE ROLE

As a Data Engineer, you will build scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, SQL, and Power BI, helping drive data-led decision making across the business.

Specifically, you can expect to be involved in the following:

  • Design, build, test, and maintain data pipelines to move data from multiple sources into a central data warehouse.
  • Develop and maintain data models using modern cloud data technologies.
  • Transform and structure raw data into curated datasets that support business intelligence and reporting.
  • Apply data warehousing best practices to improve data accessibility, quality, and performance.
  • Create trusted datasets, measures, and KPIs to support reporting and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Support documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the data function.
  • Contribute to data governance, data quality, and optimisation initiatives.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful Data Engineer will have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong commercial experience with SQL and data modelling.
  • Experience designing and managing ETL or ELT processes.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and Snowflake.
  • Experience working with Power BI and an understanding of DAX and Power Query.
  • Understanding of data quality, governance, and performance optimisation.
  • Exposure to collaboration and development tools such as GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, adaptable approach to delivery.

BENEFITS
