Senior / Staff Analytics Engineer
Location: Columbus, OH
Compensation: Up to $220K

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior / Staff Analytics Engineer to join a high-performing team focused on building scalable data products, analytical systems, and performance frameworks that improve product visibility and operational decision-making across the business.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys building from the ground up, and can own analytical systems end-to-end – from modeling and transformation to workflow automation and performance optimization.

Depending on your strengths and business priorities, you may work across product analytics, operational performance, product quality initiatives, or customer experience insights.

This is a high-impact role where strong technical ownership and cross-functional influence are equally important.

What You’ll Do

Data Modeling & Analytics Infrastructure

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data models to support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making
• Develop data products that improve visibility into product performance, quality trends, and operational workflows
• Build and optimize transformation pipelines to improve data reliability, accessibility, and speed
• Partner with engineering teams to improve data quality, instrumentation, and data consistency across systems

Performance Analytics & Optimization

• Build analytical workflows that improve operational efficiency and product performance visibility
• Create frameworks for monitoring performance trends, surfacing optimization opportunities, and supporting strategic initiatives
• Support analytics use cases across connected systems and high-volume operational environments
• Improve the flow of data across platforms to enable faster insights and better decision-making at scale

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams to translate business needs into scalable analytical solutions
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and influence product and operational strategy through data-driven insights
• Help define analytical standards and improve best practices across teams

Technical Leadership

• Own analytical systems and data products with increasing autonomy and accountability
• Contribute to data architecture and analytics strategy across the organization
• Mentor peers and help raise the bar on analytics engineering best practices
• Balance short-term business priorities with long-term scalability and maintainability

What We’re Looking For

• Senior: 6+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or related data-focused roles
• Staff: 8-10+ years of experience in highly technical, fast-moving environments
• Strong expertise in SQL and Python
• Deep understanding of data modeling principles, including dimensional and entity-based modeling
• Strong understanding of data systems, performance tradeoffs, and analytical architecture
• Experience building scalable data products and transformation pipelines
• Experience supporting product performance, operational analytics, or customer-facing product environments
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with modern analytics engineering tooling such as dbt
• Exposure to connected product ecosystems, event-driven systems, or high-volume data environments
• Experience working in product-driven, consumer technology, mobility, or hardware-adjacent environments
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into operational or strategic impact
