About the Role
We’re hiring a Principal AI Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team building intelligent software and scalable AI capabilities that power core products across the business.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, defining technical direction, and delivering production-grade software. You’ll work across the full development lifecycle-from architecture and design through implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement.
You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams to build reliable, scalable systems that leverage modern AI technologies to solve real business problems.
What You’ll Do
Technical Leadership
- Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale engineering initiatives.
- Define technical strategy for complex projects and influence long-term platform direction.
- Drive engineering decisions that prioritize scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Mentor engineers and help establish technical best practices across the organization.
AI Platform & Product Development
- Design and build production-ready AI capabilities integrated into customer-facing products.
- Develop scalable backend services and distributed systems that support intelligent application features.
- Build reliable data processing and information management capabilities that improve product functionality.
- Improve the performance, quality, and scalability of AI-powered features through continuous iteration and measurement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities where AI can enhance products, workflows, and customer experiences.
Engineering Excellence
- Lead projects from concept through production deployment.

- Contribute to architectural standards, engineering processes, and platform evolution.
- Balance rapid product delivery with long-term technical sustainability.

- Experience working with cloud platforms, APIs, and modern software infrastructure.
- Demonstrated success leading complex technical initiatives from architecture through production.
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and solving open-ended technical problems.
- Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership across teams.
Why Join?
You’ll join an engineering-led organization where AI is an integral part of the product strategy rather than a standalone research initiative.
This role offers significant ownership, the opportunity to influence technical direction, and the chance to solve challenging engineering problems while building scalable software used in production every day.

Head of Analytics & Data Science
Location: USA (Remote/Hybrid)
Salary: $230,000 – $260,000 base + performance bonus + extensive benefits
Harnham is partnering with one of the world’s most downloaded wellness apps, backed by a major public healthcare company, to hire a Head of Data Analytics. With 85M+ downloads and a global user base, this is a chance to lead analytics and data science for a brand millions already use, with startup-level ownership and the resources of a public company.
This is a player-coach role at the center of product, growth, and data science. You’ll be hands-on with metrics, experiments, and analysis, while also setting the data agenda alongside product, growth, and executive leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own core growth and subscription metrics (installs, trials, ROAS, CAC, LTV, churn) and lead attribution strategy across AppsFlyer, SKAN, and SSOT deduplication
- Run the experimentation program, helping PMs and UA design tests and build statistical rigor across the org
- Own product analytics strategy: event taxonomy, Mixpanel governance, and turning data into funnel and retention insight for PMs
- Manage and grow a team of data scientists, setting the analytics roadmap and priorities
- Act as the go-to data partner for UA, Growth PM, and Head of Product on key business decisions
- Build AI-powered self-service analytics tools so teams can answer their own questions
- Partner with data engineering to keep the underlying pipeline reliable and trustworthy
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years in data/analytics roles, including 2+ years managing a team
- Strong grasp of subscription and mobile metrics: LTV, trial conversion, cohort analysis
- Experience with mobile UA attribution (MMP, SKAN, multi-touch) and cross-platform reporting
- A track record designing and running experimentation programs
- Product analytics experience: event instrumentation and Mixpanel/Amplitude governance
- Comfortable with dbt/SQL to review models and unblock your team when needed
- Sharp business partnering skills: plain-language communication and confidence to push back
- Hands-on experience building with AI/LLM tools, not just using them
Bonus points: background in consumer subscription apps (health, wellness, entertainment, or productivity); experience building internal AI-powered tools (Claude/OpenAI APIs, LangChain, agent tooling); deep attribution and data modeling expertise.

Title: AI/ML Engineer (All Levels)
Location: Bay Area (Hybrid)
Compensation: Up to $350,000 + Equity
We’re partnered with a well-funded, high-growth Series B startup building the next generation of AI-native data infrastructure for Fortune 500 enterprises. With 3.5x revenue growth in FY’24 and 160% net revenue retention, they’re scaling fast and investing heavily in the AI engineering team that powers their core product.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll own the intelligence layer of the platform, making real architectural decisions around agent design, model selection, and evaluation strategy. Everything you build ships directly to customers; this is not a POC or internal tooling team.
What You’ll Do
- Architect multi-step AI agents end-to-end, covering problem decomposition, context retrieval, error recovery, and output quality
- Own RAG pipelines, vector and graph-based retrieval systems, and knowledge representations that let agents reason accurately over complex enterprise data
- Build the AI layer behind the platform’s core code generation capability, from prompt design and model selection through to fine-tuning and output validation
- Make production AI work at scale, balancing latency, throughput, and observability, and knowing when to optimize a model versus restructure a system
- Think in failure modes and evaluation strategy, not capability demos, and own the improvement loop
Requirements
- 4-6+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful AI/ML depth
- Proven experience building and shipping AI agents or coding agents in production
- Strong Python skills with hands-on experience across RAG, vector databases, and knowledge graphs
- Experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and structured outputs in production
- Familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes for production AI deployment
- Experience with data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Spark is a strong bonus
- Scale or Go experience is a bonus
If you’re a builder who thinks in failure modes, owns what you ship, and thrives in environments where last year’s best practice is already obsolete, this is a rare opportunity to have direct leverage on a product used by some of the world’s largest enterprises.

Title: Staff & Principal AI/ML Engineer
Location: Bay Area (Hybrid)
Compensation: Up to $380,000 + Equity
We’re partnered with a well-funded, high-growth Series B startup building the next generation of AI-native data infrastructure for Fortune 500 enterprises. With 3.5x revenue growth in FY’24 and 160% net revenue retention, they’re scaling fast and investing in senior technical leadership to define how AI gets built across the company.
This is a role for someone who sets technical direction, not just executes it. You’ll shape agent architecture, evaluation strategy, and retrieval systems at the core of the platform, leading large-scale initiatives from design through to production with real ownership over outcomes. The scope is intentionally open-ended, and strong engineers have enormous leverage here.
What You’ll Do
- Set technical direction across multi-step agent architecture, RAG pipelines, and knowledge retrieval systems, making the calls on agent design, model selection, and build vs. buy
- Own the AI behind the platform’s core code generation capability, from prompt design and fine-tuning through to output validation at scale
- Lead large, complex initiatives end-to-end with minimal direction, defining the problem as much as the solution
- Shape how production AI gets built across the team, establishing standards for evaluation, observability, and reliability
- Influence architectural decisions across the broader engineering organisation and mentor engineers at all levels
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with significant AI/ML depth and a track record of technical leadership
- Demonstrated experience owning and shipping AI agents or coding agents in production at scale
- Strong Python skills with deep hands-on experience across RAG, vector databases, and knowledge graphs (Neo4j)
- Ability to make architectural decisions under uncertainty and drive them through to production
- Experience with AWS and Kubernetes, and comfort operating across the full AI development lifecycle
- Experience with data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Spark is a strong plus
- Scala or Go experience is a bonus
If you’re a technical leader who defines problems as much as you solve them, thrives in ambiguity, and wants to shape how AI is built at a company scaling toward its next funding round, this is the opportunity.
