Job Title: Staff Data Scientist - Product Analytics

Location: San Francisco or Remote
Team: Data Science
Reports To: Director of Data Science

Overview: As a senior leader in our cross-functional teams, you will play a critical role in building a product that engages millions of users globally, helping us reach new milestones and grow our brand.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Data-Driven Insights: Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to drive the strategic direction of the company by providing data-driven insights. Help define and evaluate the success of new features, guide product roadmaps, and optimize user experiences.
  • Product Analytics: Analyze large datasets to uncover meaningful patterns and user behavior. Work on complex product and business problems, identify critical opportunities for product improvements, and drive actionable outcomes.
  • Experimentation & Testing: Design and implement AB and multivariate tests to assess the impact of new features, product changes, and strategies. Use data to draw actionable conclusions and optimize product features based on test results.
  • Strategic Leadership: Shape and inform the company's growth strategies by leveraging data to influence product decisions. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define objectives and key results (OKRs) tied to product goals.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentor junior data scientists, sharing your expertise and guiding the team on complex analytical approaches. Foster a collaborative, high-performing environment, and proactively communicate insights across teams to drive company-wide decisions.

You'll Be a Good Match If:

  • Experience: You have at least 8 years of experience in a data science role, with a deep understanding of the consumer tech industry.
  • Technical Skills: You are proficient in SQL and have experience working with large datasets. You have strong experience designing experiments (AB and multivariate testing) and turning data into actionable insights.
  • Strategic Thinker: You can think critically and strategically about product challenges and translate them into data-driven solutions. You understand how data can drive product and business strategy and have a passion for applying data science to solve real-world problems.
  • Communication: You have excellent communication skills and are able to clearly articulate complex ideas, both verbally and in writing. You proactively share your findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and clarity around objectives.
  • Growth Mindset: You have deep expertise in growth, particularly for consumer products. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are adept at navigating ambiguity.
