The SEO function sits at the centre of commercial performance, working closely with trading, buying, and digital teams.
The role
You'll take ownership of SEO for a major retail website, responsible for:
- Driving organic traffic, rankings, and revenue
- Owning and delivering the SEO strategy
- Working closely with internal teams and external agencies
This is not a "manager in name only" role - you'll be expected to lead while remaining hands‑on day‑to‑day.
What you'll be doing
- Own SEO performance end‑to‑end - traffic, rankings, and revenue
- Develop and execute the SEO strategy and roadmap
- Conduct keyword research and identify opportunities for growth
- Analyse performance and report on key KPIs and ROI
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across trading, commercial, and product teams
- Manage and collaborate with external SEO agencies

The Role and Deliverables
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade AI-enabled applications consuming standardised GenAI services such as LLM-based capabilities, RAG, summarisation, and classification.
- Develop cloud-native microservice or full-stack applications using API-led architectures.
- Integrate AI capabilities securely and reliably, in line with platform standards and guardrails.
- Take end-to-end ownership from local development through CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and incident resolution.
- Build and maintain DevSecOps pipelines with automated testing, security controls, and infrastructure as code.
- Implement observability, logging, metrics, and alerting to support live production workloads.
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in software engineering, delivering complex distributed or microservice-based systems.
- Proven capability building and operating production applications with embedded AI or machine learning features.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js, with exposure to modern frontend frameworks where relevant.
- Solid experience integrating systems via APIs, including REST and event-driven patterns.
- Hands-on DevOps expertise covering CI/CD, containerisation, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong understanding of non-functional requirements including security, resilience, performance, and scalability.
- Confidence working across multidisciplinary teams and communicating technical concepts clearly.

The Role and Deliverables
- Take ownership of an existing retention model, ensuring accuracy, reliability and ongoing business adoption.
- Review model performance, data dependencies and assumptions, documenting any changes made during the contract.
- Build and maintain clear reporting to provide visibility of model outputs and business impact.
- Work closely with lifecycle and engagement teams to embed model outputs into decision-making processes.
- Own and stabilise an existing anomaly detection solution, addressing bugs, gaps or reliability issues.
- Deliver clear handover documentation outlining model status, limitations and recommended next steps.
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong experience building, maintaining and productionising data science and machine learning models.
- Confident working with Python in a modern analytics or data science environment.
- Solid SQL skills and experience using transformation frameworks such as dbt.
- Experience working with cloud-based data and ML platforms such as Databricks.
- Comfortable owning existing models, improving reliability and driving stakeholder adoption.
- Familiarity with version control using Git.
- Exposure to customer analytics, retention modelling or anomaly detection is beneficial.
