Commercial Analyst

£30,000 - £35,000

Hybrid - Birmingham (2-3 days per week)

The Role

  • Deliver regular commercial reporting across sales, products, customers, and costs to provide clear performance visibility
  • Analyse trends against targets, budgets, and forecasts, identifying key drivers and opportunities for growth
  • Produce ad hoc analysis and reporting to support decision-making across business functions
  • Interpret customer, product, and market data to highlight risks and opportunities
  • Support forecasting, business planning, and target setting through robust data analysis
  • Partner with stakeholders across sales, marketing, finance, and operations to provide insights and recommendations
  • Contribute to product development and launch analysis, including performance tracking and optimisation
  • Support data automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency
  • Conduct market and commercial research to inform strategic direction

Your Skills and Experience

  • A degree in Data, STEM, or a highly numerate subject such as Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or similar
  • Strong commercial experience in data analysis within a business environment
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience in data manipulation and reporting
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau, or the ability to develop these skills
  • Familiarity with SQL or Python for data analysis is advantageous
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines
