The Role:
- As a Founding Engineer, you are responsible for spearheading the development of our AI-driven accounting platform from the ground up. You excel in architecting intricate systems and crafting solutions that pave the way for the future of financial technology. Other responsibilities include:
- the design, development, and implementation of our AI-driven accounting platform using Python.
- closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs.
- scalable, efficient, and maintainable codebase adhering to industry best practices.
- innovation by researching and integrating emerging technologies to enhance product capabilities.
- coding standards, development processes, and quality assurance procedures.
- junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- ownership of project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and objectives.
- identify and address technical challenges and bottlenecks to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements:
- in Python with extensive experience in building projects from scratch.
- experience working in startup environments, preferably as a founding engineer or early-stage employee.
- knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and processes.
- with AI/machine learning technologies and frameworks is a plus.
- communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
The Benefits:
As a Founding Engineer, you will receive a $210,000-$230,000 base salary. This role also includes equity, 401k, health, dental, and vision care.

THE COMPANY:
I’m working with a global retail & e-commerce brand that’s expanding rapidly across the UK. With a growing digital and physical presence, their central data team plays a key role in powering insights across e-commerce, retail, finance, and marketing.
THE ROLE:
This is a hands-on data engineering role where you’ll focus on building, optimising, and scaling pipelines into BigQuery (GCP) from a wide range of sources. You’ll work closely with BI developers and analysts to ensure clean, reliable data is available for reporting and decision-making.
- Manage and optimise pipelines from ERP, website, APIs, app stores, social media, and more.
- Work with BigQuery, Google Buckets, Python scripts, and Talend (transitioning to Dataform/Cloud workflows).
- Support migrations between GCP projects and ensure the warehouse is scalable and cost-efficient.
- Partner with BI teams to prepare and transform data for reporting in Power BI and Looker.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
A successful Data Engineer will have the following skills and experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery & GCP (essential).
- Solid SQL skills, with a focus on optimisation and performance tuning.

With executive-level support and increasing product demand, they’re seeking a Director of Data Science to lead strategy, research, and engineering execution across NLP and LLM initiatives for tax, compliance and auditing projects. This is a rare opportunity to drive technical vision, shape an elite ML team, and build impactful AI systems from the ground up in a regulated space.
THE ROLE
As Director of Data Science, you’ll be responsible for setting the long-term machine learning roadmap, leading technical teams, and ensuring the successful development and deployment of scalable NLP solutions. You will report directly to the Head of AI and work closely with executive leadership, product, and engineering.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in machine learning and data science, with at least 4+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Comfortable leading teams of 15+ data scientists and machine learning engineers
- Demonstrated success building and leading teams that develop and deploy NLP/LLM models at scale.
- Deep expertise in Python, ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), and modern NLP tools (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy).
- Experience designing and implementing ML systems in production, especially with large language models (e.g., GPT, BERT, T5).
- Extensive tax, compliance and/or audit domain experience.
- Comfortable with regulatory compliance processes, risk management, data privacy.
- Familiarity with the SEC, FCA and FINRA preferred
- Proven ability to align technical initiatives with business goals, working cross-functionally with product and exec teams.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and scalable ML pipelines.
- PhD or Master’s degree in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Publication or open-source contributions in NLP/ML domains (e.g., ACL, NeurIPS, ICLR, EMNLP) a plus.
