VP of Engineering - Scale an AI Platform to Enterprise Dominance (London 2-3 days a week - Hybrid)

Are you a visionary engineering leader ready to build the foundational technology that will shape the future of enterprise AI?

My client, a high-growth, deeply technical startup based in London (Hybrid), is seeking a VP of Engineering to scale their entire engineering function. This is a rare opportunity to join the founding team alongside the CTO, transforming a strong v1 platform into a global, enterprise-grade solution that is already helping billion-dollar companies like Parsons, Ferrovial, and Vinci realise tangible productivity gains from their AI deployments.

We are looking for someone who builds with urgency, leads with clarity, and is passionate about reimagining how work gets done through automation and AI.

The Role & Your Impact

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the driving force behind the platform's technical vision, engineering systems, and team growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scale the Platform: Lead technical strategy and system architecture to ensure fast, secure, and scalable delivery of product milestones for an enterprise-grade infrastructure platform.
  • Technical Roadmap: Translate product vision into actionable technical roadmaps, make critical build-vs-buy decisions, and proactively manage technical debt.
  • Engineering Excellence: Establish world-class engineering systems for high-quality code, rigorous testing, and exceptional reliability. Own and drive key performance metrics.
  • Leadership & Culture: Build and mentor high-performance teams, fostering a culture grounded in ownership, urgency, and technical rigor.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven Scaling Experience: Track record of shipping enterprise-grade software at scale, with experience helping a business scale its platform to at least $10M ARR.
  • Leadership in Growth: Significant experience leading engineering organizations in early-stage or high-growth environments.
  • Deep Technical Acumen: Strong expertise in systems design, architecture, and infrastructure.
  • Bias for Action: Obsession with speed, product quality, and user outcomes. Clear communicator with a bias toward action and simplicity.

Compensation & Next Steps

This high-impact leadership role offers a competitive package, with a salary up to £180,000, depending on experience.

If you are excited to deliver real results to some of the world's most advanced enterprises and have the technical rigor to build something foundational, apply now for a confidential discussion.
