This is an opportunity to join a fast‑paced, data‑driven marketplace business as they elevate their trading capabilities. You will play a pivotal role in shaping how marketing investment drives customer acquisition, revenue and long‑term value. This project suits someone who thrives at the intersection of commercial strategy, marketing performance and customer insight.

They are a well‑established platform business. With a rapidly growing customer base and a wide ecosystem of partners, they rely heavily on data to guide marketing, trading and commercial decisions. They are expanding their trading function to strengthen the link between insight, marketing execution and commercial outcomes. This contractor will help shape how the organisation delivers efficient growth in a highly competitive market.

The Role and Deliverables

  • Act as the commercial conscience for all marketing performance, ensuring activity aligns with quarterly trading goals.
  • Scrutinise marketing channel performance and challenge weekly plans to maximise P&L impact and order volume.
  • Use customer, market and performance insights to shape commercial plans and marketing actions across CRM, paid media and onsite journeys.
  • Drive short‑term tactical levers when forecasts shift, working closely with Trading, Marketing and Commercial teams.
  • Build a clear understanding of user base dynamics and identify opportunities to improve conversion, retention and customer economics.
  • Track performance against trading plans, holding teams accountable for delivering ROI across channels.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong commercial mindset with experience driving performance across a marketing funnel within a platform or marketplace business.
  • Ability to interpret analytical outputs and translate them into meaningful commercial recommendations.
  • Confident challenging plans, identifying root causes of performance and pushing for better outcomes.
  • Skilled at working cross‑functionally and simplifying complex data for senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of customer journeys, conversion funnels and trading dynamics across CRM, paid search, paid social and onsite channels.
  • Comfortable operating at pace, making decisions and influencing change without owning channel deployment.
