Data Quality Analyst – London (1 day a month)

We are working on a Data Quality Analyst role with a networking company in the finance industry based in London (1 day a month).

They are a small team of 3 people and don’t currently have a hands on Data Quality Analyst, so need someone with strong experience in SQL and ideally Python. You will work within the data warehouse to cleanse data and work across the end-to-end data process and improve the overall data quality of the business.

The Role

We’re working with a small company who specialise in the investment space. They are looking for a Data Quality Analyst to help ensure that data flowing through the system is complete, clean, and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end data quality lifecycle, from profiling to documentation
  • Write SQL queries to fix issues directly in the data warehouse
  • Work with Python to automate data validation and monitoring processes
  • Build and run automated reports to ensure ongoing data integrity
  • Collaborate with the lead analyst and Head of Data to continuously improve internal data processes

This position is based in London and plays a vital part in shaping the firm’s approach to financial data governance, quality, and reporting.

Role overview:
As Financial Data Steward, you will champion best practices in data integrity across finance workstreams, ensuring that fund, portfolio, and investor-level datasets are complete, accurate, and reliable. You’ll lead data quality initiatives, build internal dashboards, and work across teams to embed a culture of “right-first-time” data management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reconcile data across internal systems (GL, portfolio monitoring, CRM) and third-party sources (fund admins, custodians, vendors)
  • Maintain the Finance Data Catalogue – defining ownership, lineage, and golden sources
  • Build Power BI dashboards to track data quality metrics, reconciliation exceptions, and performance insights
  • Define and enforce data quality rules to improve accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Provide training, documentation, and day-to-day support to enhance data literacy across Finance

About you:
