The Company

This is a high-growth, PE-backed financial services business operating within the consumer credit and instalment payments space; with an ambitious growth agenda, the business is investing heavily in its technology, data and product capabilities. This is a key leadership hire as the organisation looks to modernise its data estate, build stronger engineering capabilities and use data more effectively across the customer journey!

The Role

As the Chief Data Officer, you will take ownership of the data strategy and lead a significant transformation of the organisation's data and analytics capabilities. Your remit is to come in, review and reshape the existing data capability, define the target operating model and lead the development of a modern data lake and warehouse architecture. A major focus will be creating a genuinely self-serve data environment, enabling teams across the business to access and use data more effectively. You will work closely with a tight-knit senior leadership team. The role will also have a strong focus on using AI to improve engineering productivity, including increasing development speed and efficiency through modern coding and development practices; one of the initial priorities will be the customer onboarding journey, using data to improve personalisation, analytics and the overall customer experience.

  • Experience working with Azure / Microsoft data technologies highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of AI and how it can be used to improve engineering productivity and development efficiency
  • Experience working alongside architecture, product and engineering leadership
  • Able to operate strategically while remaining close to the technical detail
  • Financial services, fintech or similar technology-led environments would be advantageous

The Benefits

  • £160,000-£180,000
