The Role

The Role
As AI & ML Lead, you will be the technical and strategic authority for machine learning and AI initiatives across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Data Scientists
- Defining and owning the AI and machine learning strategy
- Modernising existing recommendation and search capabilities
- Evaluating emerging AI technologies and identifying opportunities for adoption
- Driving AI-first thinking across product and technology teams
- Guiding model selection, evaluation frameworks, and MLOps best practices
- Making informed build vs buy decisions for AI solutions and vendors
- Partnering closely with Product and Engineering leaders to shape roadmaps
- Identifying high-impact use cases across recommendations, search, fraud detection, and behavioural modelling
- Influencing prioritisation decisions through data-driven insights and business impact assessment
- Championing best practices for deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience designing, deploying, and scaling machine learning solutions in production environments
- Experience working on recommendation systems, search platforms, ranking models, personalisation, marketplace products, or similar challenges
- Proven ability to define technical strategy and influence business direction
- Experience leading, mentoring, or managing Data Science and Machine Learning teams
- Strong understanding of modern machine learning, MLOps, and production model lifecycle management
- Experience deploying models using modern cloud-based data and AI platforms, ideally including Databricks
- Knowledge of Generative AI, LLM applications, RAG architectures, fine-tuning, or related technologies
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
What They Offer
- €80,000 – €110,000 base salary
- Total compensation package up to approximately €90,000 – €140,000 including bonus

The Role
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Analytics Engineers and Data Engineers

Your Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience leading Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering teams
- Deep expertise in modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or GCP-based ecosystems
- Advanced knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, ELT/ETL design, and pipeline orchestration
- Experience with tools such as dbt, Airflow, or comparable data transformation and orchestration platforms
- Strong understanding of data quality, testing, monitoring, and observability frameworks
- Experience implementing CI/CD, automated testing, and software engineering best practices for data teams
- Ability to balance people leadership, technical direction, and delivery management
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including engagement with senior leadership
- Experience managing platform costs, performance optimisation, and scalability initiatives
- Exposure to AI-assisted engineering workflows or data platform automation is advantageous
