AI Engineer
London. Hybrid working. Competitive salary with meaningful carry-based upside.
This is an opportunity to build production AI products end to end in a small, elite engineering team. You will work at startup pace, ship real systems to real customers, and build a portfolio of high-impact AI products across multiple industries in a short period of time.
The Company
They are an AI product incubator inside a well-established B2B software investment environment. The team partners directly with portfolio companies to define AI product strategy, build full-stack applications, and deploy them to enterprise customers. With an existing customer base and strong technical resources already in place, engineers gain the ownership and speed of a founding team without the risk profile of an early-stage start-up.
The Role
You will join a hands-on engineering group responsible for building AI products from concept to production, including:
* Designing and delivering full-stack AI applications, from infrastructure and backend services to polished user interfaces.
* Developing Python and FastAPI backends, React and TypeScript frontends, and cloud-native systems using Kubernetes and AWS.
* Deploying and optimising GenAI and LLM-powered capabilities, including agents, evaluation frameworks and observability.
* Working directly with senior leaders across portfolio companies to shape product direction and influence technical strategy.
* Operating in 0-to-1 environments, embedding into teams for focused delivery sprints before moving on to the next product build.
* Solving complex real-world AI challenges in environments with legacy systems, imperfect data and high reliability needs.
Your Skills and Experience
You will thrive in this role if you bring:
* Strong experience shipping applied AI products into production, not just proofs of concept.
* Full-stack engineering capability across backend, frontend and cloud infrastructure.
* Practical experience deploying GenAI or LLM-driven applications in live environments.
* Comfort working at pace in ambiguous, high-ownership environments such as start-ups or founding teams.
* Clear communication skills and confidence working with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including C-suite.
* A proactive, product-focused approach, creating specifications rather than waiting for them.
What They Offer
* Competitive salary.
* Meaningful carry participation with financial upside linked to the products you help build.
* Hybrid working with three days per week in the office.
* Exposure to multiple industries and the opportunity to build several AI products early in your career.
* A flat, collaborative structure with direct access to senior leadership.
* The pace and ownership of a start-up with the stability of an established investor-backed platform.
How to Apply
If you want to build real AI products at scale across London or New York and enjoy working in fast-moving, high-impact environments, please apply with your CV.
