7-9 MONTH FIXED-TERM CONTRACT (FLEXIBLE ON LENGTH)
Please note, you must have full UK right to work and be a UK resident to apply.
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
This is a private equity-backed green technology business operating at national scale within the electric vehicle charging space. The organisation installs and manages thousands of charging points across the UK, including large-scale public sector partnerships, and is experiencing rapid growth driven by significant investment and long-term infrastructure contracts.
Data is viewed as a core strategic asset. Over the past year, the business has invested heavily in its data platform and capabilities and is now entering the next phase: using data to drive better decisions, improve customer experience, optimise operations, and demonstrate tangible commercial value across the organisation.
THE TEAM
You’ll sit within a growing data function that reports directly into the finance leadership team. The group includes senior engineering and analytics capability, with further hires underway as the function scales.
The foundations are now firmly in place: modern cloud infrastructure, a centralised data platform, and business intelligence tooling rolled out across the organisation. The focus has shifted from building the platform to activating the data – and this role plays a critical part in that transition.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across customer success, operations, marketing, and finance, acting as a visible champion for analytics, insight, and data literacy.
THE ROLE
This is a senior, stakeholder-facing analytics and BI leadership role on a fixed-term basis, designed to help the business move from strong data foundations to clear, actionable insight.
The emphasis is on demonstrating what’s possible with data, embedding analytics into decision-making, and ensuring teams across the organisation understand and trust the insights being delivered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the analytics and BI agenda, translating business problems into actionable reporting and insight.
- Partnering with customer success teams to develop reporting on customer interactions and experience.
- Working with operations to build insight around service reliability, installation performance, and infrastructure health.
- Collaborating with marketing to develop reporting on customer profiles, acquisition, and engagement.
- Acting as a champion for Power BI adoption across the business, showcasing wins, sharing best practice, and driving consistent usage.
- Managing senior stakeholders, setting expectations, and building strong, trusted relationships across the organisation.
- Supporting improvements in data literacy and helping non-technical teams understand how to use data effectively.
- Providing input into the future direction of advanced analytics, including the potential transition of existing machine learning models from third-party to in-house ownership (desirable exposure).
This role is less about building infrastructure and more about extracting value, influencing decisions, and embedding analytics into day-to-day operations.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential:
- Previous experience managing analytics or BI professionals.
- Strong background in analytics and business intelligence, with prior hands-on experience (including SQL).
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and translate data into clear commercial insight.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and influence without authority.
- Commercially astute, solutions-focused, and highly organised.
- Comfortable operating in a scaling environment where structure exists but is still evolving.
Desirable:
- Experience working in infrastructure, energy, mobility, or asset-heavy environments.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms and modern BI stacks (e.g. AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Power BI).
- Awareness of machine learning concepts and experience working alongside ML practitioners or models.
WHY APPLY?
- Play a pivotal role in taking a data function from strong foundations to real business impact.
- Work directly with senior leaders across the organisation and influence strategic decision-making.
- Join a well-backed, mission-driven green tech business at a critical growth phase.
- Shape how analytics is used, understood, and valued across the organisation.
- Ideal for someone who thrives in imperfect environments and is excited by building momentum rather than inheriting a finished product.

LONDON – HYBRID – 3 DAYS A WEEK
Please note: you must have full UK right to work and be open to regular European (and occasional international) travel.
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
This boutique market research consultancy is part of a larger global marketing group, offering the agility of a small, specialist team with the backing and reach of an international network. The business is in a clear phase of growth, expanding its UK team following recent change and increased client demand.
The consultancy partners with major global brands across sectors including automotive, FMCG, consumer goods, and technology. A significant proportion of work is focused on automotive research, supporting clients through complex, multi-year product development programmes.
The organisation is known for deep, immersive qualitative research, combining strategic insight with hands-on fieldwork to deliver commercially meaningful outcomes.
THE TEAM
You’ll join a close-knit UK qualitative research team within a wider international consultancy of around 70 people globally. The UK team is small, collaborative, and fast-moving, with individuals expected to be hands-on and highly adaptable.
The environment suits people who enjoy variety, autonomy, and responsibility. Everyone contributes across proposals, delivery, analysis, and client engagement, with limited hierarchy and a strong sense of shared ownership.
This role will involve some line management, alongside significant project leadership and day-to-day stakeholder management.
THE ROLE
This is a senior, client-facing Qualitative Research Director position, focused primarily on automotive research. The role sits at a pivotal point in the team, taking ownership of high-profile accounts and complex, multi-market projects.
You’ll lead end-to-end qualitative research programmes, from proposal writing and costing through to fieldwork, analysis, and strategic storytelling. Projects frequently involve immersive, in-person research, including extended ethnographies and international travel.
The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery and will suit someone comfortable operating in a small, agile consultancy where everyone “rolls up their sleeves”.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research Leadership & Delivery
- Lead complex qualitative research programmes across automotive and other consumer sectors.
- Design and deliver methodologies including focus groups, in-depth interviews, online communities, comms testing, and ethnographic fieldwork.
- Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring quality, rigour, and commercial relevance.
Client & Commercial Ownership
- Own senior client relationships and act as a trusted research partner.
- Write proposals, scope projects, manage costs, and oversee profitability.
- Confidently present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Fieldwork & Analysis
- Conduct immersive, in-person research, including extended ethnographies (often several hours with a single participant).
- Lead analysis and insight development, translating consumer understanding into clear, actionable narratives.
- Support innovation and NPD projects from early exploration through to prototyping and refinement.
Team & Project Management
- Provide line management to at least one direct report.
- Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, coordinating timelines, outputs, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of best practice within the qualitative team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 7-10 years’ experience in market research, with a strong qualitative focus.
- Proven experience working within the automotive sector (essential).
- Background in consultancy or agency environments preferred.
- Strong experience in ethnographic research and immersive fieldwork.
- Confident proposal writing, project costing, and commercial management skills.
- Experience managing projects and mentoring junior team members.
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced, highly collaborative team.
- Willingness to travel regularly across Europe and occasionally further afield.
WHY APPLY?
- Join a growing consultancy at a pivotal stage of expansion.
- Work on high-impact, global automotive research projects.
- Enjoy a senior, visible role with genuine autonomy and influence.
- Be part of a small, agile team backed by a global marketing network.
- Benefit from flexible working, discretionary bonus, and international exposure.
