We are seeking a talented Senior DevOps Consultant to jumpstart our DevOps capabilities and lay the foundation for a scalable infrastructure. This is a 4-7 FTE days consultancy role, ideal for an expert who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building from the ground up, and has a strong background in cloud services, Kubernetes, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and Implement GitOps: Design and implement a GitOps approach for infrastructure and application deployments, leveraging Terraform/OpenTofu for AWS resource provisioning, Helmfiles for Kubernetes releases, and GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
AWS Services Review & Redesign: Oversee the core AWS services including RDS, EKS, Lambda (with ECR integration), VPC/networking, and Secrets Manager, and ensure these are part of a scalable and modular infrastructure.
Deployment Practices & Processes: Develop and document deployment best practices to support rapid, reliable releases of API services and Kubernetes Helm charts. Focus on automation and managed service adoption where possible.
Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer: Mentor the internal team on GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud-native best practices. Foster a DevOps culture within the organization.
Key Requirements:
Hands-on AWS Experience: Extensive experience with AWS services, particularly RDS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, and Secrets Manager.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code: Proven experience with Terraform (or OpenTofu) for cloud infrastructure provisioning and Helm/Helmfiles for Kubernetes application deployment.
CI/CD Pipeline Expertise: Strong experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions or similar tools.
GitOps Experience: Demonstrated ability to implement GitOps workflows and automate end-to-end deployment processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Early-Stage DevOps Experience: Prior experience helping scale DevOps in a growing organization.
Kubernetes Management: Familiarity with Kubernetes node group management, especially for high-CPU workloads.
